We were looking forward to this place seeing the nice pictures on maps. We ordered 2 bowls of miso noodles. They looked great, just like the pictures. However the taste was so unexpected. We couldn't taste the miso, instead the soup was so salty it was bitter. I was so disappointed. The other bowl of dipping noodles was spicy even though we ordered regular. Some ramen broth are salty but this was unbearable. The cook seemed to pride in their dishes so we didn't bother bringing it up. We poured water into the soup to dampen the taste and ate as much as we could, just to not waste food. Even the noodles were so salty. The noodles were very hard, my teeth was hurting on the way back. There was only 1 server who looked spent even before the busy hours. We still tipped.
Was pleasantly surprised. I went here after my disappointing experience at Gushiya. The service and food here is impeccable, and the prices are reasonable. A lot of other places in Torrance are overpriced for what you get.I ordered the spicy dipping ramen with an extra egg, and it was fantastic. The noodles were obviously freshly made.
I hadn't ever been here prior to this evening, and in fact, hadn't ever even noticed it before, despite the fact I so happen to visit the 7-11 store a few doors down from this lil gem.In any case, I had pulled into the 7-11 tonite and a sign on the door said "closed for 30 mins". I was somewhat hungry, and in an effort to kill time til the store re-opened, i meandered into Ramen to order a bite. Its a tiny spot that is prolly at capacity with 20 patrons or so, and the place was indeed at capacity, tho i did find a singular seat available at the bar. I ordered "White Miso soup" and a diet coke. 10-15 mins later, my bowl arrives and it was surprisingly hot and delicious, esp. on this relatively cold evening. I devoured my dish and was more than pleasantly fulfilled and surprised at not only the quality of the food, but the nice little hoppin' environment the place provides. Will no doubt return, thumbs up 100%
So I had a cold and wanted some hearty ramen to help feel better. Not only did the veggie ramen warm me up bit the spice helped so much with congestion I immediately felt better. The broth is so good and the noodles are perfect. I definitely will order from here again.
Im going to leave a separate comment for the food because I’ve yet to taste it… however the customer service ??? Absolutely Cringe worthy, it’s obvious nepotism is happening because she has no absolute understanding on how to treat people and customers.I had a Uber eats Oder I order online for pick up, upon arrival I came in and informed my voice is almost gone however I have a pickup order and she ignored me because she couldn’t hear me and went to deliver food. I politely said excuse me, she came back and I told her once again I can barely speak but she cuts me off and says what do you want. Lol by this I’m high irritated however she doesn’t need to see that.So I showed her via text she grabs my food it was ready for a while so she left standing me there for no reason. the broth didn’t have the lid on all the way, it spilled all over my rental car… immediately I returned and she cut me off saying call Uber eats and I said why? She said because the customer needs a refund and I said I am the customer and I’d like two new broths. That’s it… she is being rude about where I set the food and touching and snatching it out my hand…. I literally had to say Briana she is almost fifty, this is someone’s grandmother… whooosaaaaShe goes ok we remake it all, I’m like it’s better for your food cost to give me the broth I don’t need the rest really…lol she ignored me told me twenty minutesss…After twenty minutes I return and she makes me wait with the order in my face again while she does small table touches LololIm Like Jesús help her… so she comes back to start bagging my food, I politely requested that she separated the bag this time… man she caught the biggest attitude again and in front of guest told me to package it myself.. I was beyond shock almost started to take it personal lol so I said ok and began to and she starts making side comments I said please thank you I can do it… and whats your name? Her name is Yukiko or so she says ?
I was so disappointed at this restaurant. They started vaccine passport requirement to eat at the restaurant. I'm not vaccinated so they refused me to enter the restaurant. It was so upsetting and I was so embarrassed in front of customers!! I will never come back to this place no matter they eased Covid restrictions in future!!
I ordered one beef ramen and one original shishen ramen what they gave us is nothing but vegetables in the soup ??? I tried calling them but i guess they closed right after we pick up our order very disappointed…
Black shisen ramen for the win!
