The first time I tried to go here I had to wait for my sister to come back from a woodworking class where she built some sort of stool. She ended up staining the stool in our living room and it made the smell so strong. She said she was gonna be baxk around noon so we can go but she ended up getting back at like 130! When we got there, the kitchen literally closed after the person in front of us order. So in unlucky!! Ended up getting a coffee and a pasty but I can’t remember what it was like.So fast forward a month or so we went here again but this time left early enough around 11 to actually make it in time. First though we went to the sidecar donut shop and we thought it was closed and was shocked! But it turns out the door was heavy and we weee able to go in. Then we went to traders joe to get some ingredients but there wasn’t a way to buy a single carrot so we decided to go to alfies later instead.Once we finally get to pinwheel we were waiting in line and struggled to read the menu because my vision is kinda bad and I should consider getting lasik. The only hesitation I have is that it seems scary and I am a bit of a chicken with things going into my eyes.I was struggling on deciding behind choosing between three sandwiches of the Parisian, the Marius and Brie. Parisian seemed good but it was only ham and butter and this was the last day before my diet and I didn’t want to waste it. The Marius seemed interesting but I saw that there was olives inside but I kinda wanted tuna. The Brie also looked good but I was worried my gf was going to yell at me for eating so much cheese since my face was sensitive and it’s causing me pimples. Like there was one week where I was eating lasagna and pizza a lot and then my face started breaking out which I got in trouble for.In the ended up choosing Brie and pretended it wasn’t cheese but she noticed and said she Wander bros me and can’t blame her for it. I also saw a little puppy next to us that only wanted to lick a bluebery and didn’t actually eat. Haha what a lil dummy
Wonderful baked goods.Coffee was good. Service was good.Wish there was more protein items for those not interested in pastries and sweets. We'll go back.
Love their Californian (except the one time the bread was burnt). The tomatoes, avocados and the cheese are the perfect combination with the toasted bread. Love their lavender latte with oat milk also.Almond croissant also are delicious but a bit heavy (not as heavy as the pistachio ones) but it’s a croissant! The waffles have room for improvements as they were not crisp.
My best spot for lunch during weekday
Came in an hour before close to get a couple of things and the the associates didn’t even say anything to us when we walked in and simply taped up a sign saying the kitchen closed and then asked lazily what they could get for us. No explanation, nothing. No warning that you close your kitchen early or anything. Pretty rude and uncaring and wildly disappointing. Thanks.
I usually don’t become a regular at places because I don’t find the food memorable but this place is an exception—I’m not a regular because I’m physically too far to regularly bless my day with their amazing food!!! Everything is so fresh, and the bread is incredible. Please do yourself a solid and try the croque madame! I couldn’t stop thinking about it and for the few days I was in the area and having another taste became a top priority. The salmon omelette is 100% a skip—everything else I tried was just that goodFull disclosure: it’s the first time I tried a croque madame and maybe they’re all just this freaking good.
Shout out to the employees at Pinwheel! I’d neglected to remove my credit card from the reader yesterday after my purchase. I called a few hours later to ask if It was found there and it was! They had already closed for the day but said they’d keep it safe for me to pick up the next morning, and to bring my ID. Such nice and honest employees…and they have some darned good pastries as well! Of course I bought more when I picked up my card…and I remembered to remove my card this time! Thank you Pinwheel!
Such an enjoyable find. I was visiting the area and just happened to stop by. A great french centric cafe, and bakery. Very tasty, thanks for doing it right.
Great pastry and soup. Loves it.
Their croissants are as delicious as their coffee is awful!Ok, perhaps you'll like it if you don't mind french roast, or if you cover the flavor with milk and sugar. To me, it tastes too much like Starbucks' coffee ?
