Food was just ok. Service was not very friendly. Lunch menu says it comes with soup, but no soup came. When I asked if soup was coming I was told “no soup.”“Well, the menu says the lunch special comes with soup.”“I know,” the waiter said.

Ordered Peking Duck and Snow Pea leaves for take out. The Peking duck is super flavorful and comes with mini steamed buns. It was also presented well for take out. The whole family really enjoyed both dishes. We will be back when we come to town again.

Good food

Nice China Cafe is a rather popular Chinese restaurant in the Torrance area. The restaurant serves delicious Cantonese cuisine at a very reasonable price. Owner-chef Ricky is very friendly and accommodating. Guests are welcome to reserve the whole restaurant to host private parties and request for special dishes such as “Jiangnan Chicken with Shrimp Paste”, “Winter Melon Soup”, “Chinese Style Birthday Buns”, etc. Highly recommend the very tasty “Deep Fried Oysters”, “Roast Duck”, and “Lobster with Noodle”.

The food here is actually quite authentic (coming from a Chinese-American). I would recommend getting the green beans, the eggplant with garlic sauce, and the fish dishes! I didn’t like the soy sauce chicken though so avoid that.

You know how I know this place is good? When you go in and nobody in the restaurant is speaking English. They offer really good, authentic Chinese cuisine in a no frills environment. Do not come here if your idea of Chinese food is chicken named after a General. Do come here if you want a more genuine experience, and perhaps to try something new. Enjoy!

Tiny mom and pop Chinese cafe in Rolling Hills Plaza, just around the corner from Trader Joe's. Great home-cooked taste. We especially enjoyed the mapo tofu and duck. The walnut shrimp and garlic eggplant were also quite tasty. The portions are generous enough that we were able to take home enough for another couple of meals. We will be back to sample other dishes!

The roast duck is even better than those in Hong Kong - I travel a lot to Far East. This is quite a delightful surprise

Good tasty duck
