I’ve had this place bookmarked for awhile so decided to visit for a girls night. 4 of us ordered the molcajete, a quesadilla, and the chips and guacamole. Also got a horchata which was really different from horchatas that I’ve ever tried before, really thick and beany which sounds weird but it was yummy. The guacamole was really good, it was creamy and delicious and chips were really crunchy. I’ve never had molcajete, so I didn’t really know what to expect, but it looks really impressive! All the meats in there are well seasoned, only complaint about that is there isn’t enough tortillas given to eat with the meat, o also it’s kinda hard to eat. Overall the food was pretty good but the service was very lacking. Our server was not very nice, also when the Bill came out later he charged us $60 for the molcajete when it said $45 on the menu, they told us it’s $60 on the paper menu… but they never gave us a paper menu, so I think that was a little shady. Overall even though the atmosphere was nice as well as the food I don’t think I would not visit again.
Authentic AFThis is definitely not your typical Americanized, Mexican food. The chili sauces here are complex, balanced, and straight from the heart of Mexico. Just know if your getting food here, most of the chili sauces here contain chocolate, and indegionous spices. For some, it might be an acquired taste. For me, it was delicious.Service was as outstanding as the food was!
Great ambiance, they have mariachi on the weekends which is really nice. Service was good, waitresses are friendly and attentive. I love the mezcal & tequila flights they have on the menu. They have such a cute bar setting. A little pricey
Great, genuinely authentic Oaxacan food! Very delicious and generous portions. Homemade, handmade tortillas!
This place has the best food ever! I was out of words. Atmosphere was beautiful. Freindly service. You must try this place. It's our 1 place to go too. We tried the mole plate. ❤ and the Birria . Soooo bomb
Lovely place, great service and ambiance. Food was decent, expensive for the taste. Drinks are great. Patio is dog friendly. Vegetarian options are fairly limited, this is why it gets 3 stars from me.
Service was great. You don't get seated until your full party is there, which I think is great. We did patio dining. Our server was great. He was attentive and made sure we were satisfied. I got an order of the chicken tacos which were delicious and flavorful. I regret only placing one order because they were so good.
Great atmosphere! Food is really good and our waiter, Jose was awesome!
The patio was a lovely option to dine in with soft music that didn’t overpower our conversation. If you enjoy oysters then please try Madre’s oysters dressed. So fresh and the married flavors are so delicious. The small drinks we ordered pack a punch so looks can be deceiving. The queso wasn’t very good. Additionally the tacos fell short on flavor but overall the service made up for it. Our waitress was so attentive and sweet.
I’m giving this place this review because the price does not match with the service. They have that annoying rule: they don’t assign your seat until your whole party is there even if you have a reservation. The music was too loud, we needed to ask for a table in a quieter spot. Our waiter didn’t have common sense: we were a party of 6. We asked for a parrillada and other foods to share. He brought 4 plates, 5 spoons, etc. ? And he neglected us.The taste of the food was ok, except the pastel de cuatro leches which was too sweet. The food was not really expensive, only a plate with shrimp that costs $20 and had only 4 prawns!!!!Watch out: for parties of six or more, the restaurant adds 20 % of gratuity which is the same as tip. Only one person in our party was American and he told us gratuity and tip are different. I just did a research and he was wrong. Don’t pay more.
