Delicious Hong Kong style Chinese restaurant in the South Bay. Their prices are still unbelievably low and the portions are still hefty. You can never find a better lunch special values anywhere.
The Golden Pheasant visit suggested by a co worker who lives in the L.A area. He has been to many different places in the United States as well. We he works his home area, he comes here.I was in the mood for Egg Foo Young. Thinking it would be a scrambled egg sheet with usual vegetables. However, the menu had different variations along with it (Beef, chicken, vegetables, pork, shrimp). All of these different price points associated with them. The vegetable Egg Foo Young being the least expensive.Anyway, I received the Egg Foo Young. To my surprise and disbelief it came in a soup form. I was expecting it a regular dry form on a plate platter. Well, I see all kinds of vegetables on the top of the soup bowl and had to dig all for the egg Foo young like a treasure hunt. The size & thickness of the egg was very thick (1/4 inch) by my estimation. Inside the egg was cooked Hash Brown shreds. I appreciated that fact but not so much drowning in soup liquid. It was a good taste, but a little more salty for my taste. I added the finely crushed Black Pepper that the restaurant provided. Now I also had an Appetizer: Pan Fried Pot Stickers. They were excellent. The other members of our party had other good stuff that in retrospect, wish I had.I give the Golden Pheasant a 4 stars rating. They didn't provide an honor to Military or Veterans with a discount. The price points were mainly starts above $12 + as a minimum. The amount of food for those prices you can order a couple of items and feed a party of 4 easily.
Delicious cuisine, large portion and reasonably priced with fast friendly service.
The food is sumptuous, you will really get more than what you have paid for. Staff are friendly and the service is quick!
Taste is average but the quantity is ample / plentiful. For the price point, the food is tasty and will leave you full with leftovers for days. A bargain. The to-go containers also have foil on the bottom, so you don’t get cancer from the melted styrofoam container. Thank you owner!
The food is tasty, the staff is helpful, the prices are fair. The servings are sharing size. I went with my big eater friends and family and we still had leftovers. I can't wait to go back for more.
We were here as guests of our neice and nephew. There were 10 in our family group. I don't know the specific package that they ordered but all the dishes were excellent. From the Hot and Sour soup onward. Our large round table with a "lazy Susan" quickly filled to capacity once all the dishes arrived. Our service was also excellent. The 2 ladies were attentive and very friendly. My wife and I particularly enjoyed the soup, Chinese Broccoli, the 2 types of Shrimp, the whole fried Fish. We sampled everything but with specific dishes mentioned we were able to squeeze in a small 2nd portion. There were plenty of leftovers to take home.Again excellent with nice decor.??
Food is great! Staff is pleasant. I often call in for a delivery but this is my first time at the location. Was not disappointed. ?
Happy to find a non-crowded place for dinner on Christmas. The food was great and the staff was helpful. Will definitely be back!
The Food had really gotten better over the years. The egg and shrimp was in a huge amount though, but it was still great. 10/10
