This place deserved their Michelin star. Great ambience, delicious food and efficient services. Every dish we ordered was decent but i was particularly impressed with the black pepper beef steaks and the braised pork belly with bamboo shoots. Their tea was also very nice and pairs well with the dishes. If you're keen on desserts, it's advisable to order in advance since the waiting time is around 30 minutes.
First time at this Michelin restaurant with family and friends. Have to say it was a great experience. Decor is beautiful, place is clean, service is very friendly and attentive, food is good. We ordered a lot of dishes and of course all the specials. All of them turned out tasty except a couple of them with sauces too heavy or salty and a bit greasy. The most impressed was the presentation of the dishes. Prices were high but that was expected. Overall, it was a good experience. I will go back :)
Well decorated in old Beijing style. Quite popular and may need reservations. I really enjoyed the crispy prawns. Did not like their specialty black cod with eggplant as much. Felt like missing some flavor. The black cod is $30 per lb and average 3 lbs per fish. Quite noisy during the peak dining hours (no individual separation between tables). Service was good and fast.
I made a reservation through Yelp, and it was easy, but it did not let me go under 4 people? Not a problem for me as I noted that I wanted a table for 2, but just a head’s up.The food we ordered was delicious. The crispy shrimp and skewers were fantastic. The negative one star was because the duck I wanted was unavailable, so I was given a cold duck, and that didn’t sit well with me later in the evening.Ambience was beautiful and well worth the Michelin star. Overall, amazing experience in the city I live in.
This is a beautiful restaurant. I wish we came with more people so we can try more dishes. The only dish I don't enjoy is their special tofu, they cook it nicely but the flavor was not special to me.I would recommend this restaurant to others. The chefs here have sophisticated cooking skills.
The taste is ordinary, the price is on the expensive side, and personally I don't think it's worth it. I don't think this place can represent Beijing or Chinese cuisine.Putting aside the one Michelin star, just rate this restaurant. The restaurant décor is just fine and slightly crowded. Especially during COVID, less than half a meter between each table. The service is average, giving the impression of being understaffed and often forgetting or neglecting certain things because they are too busy. The quality of the ingredients is slightly better than that of an ordinary restaurant. The food is on the salty side, but greasy." Crystal Pear Drink", which is thinner and lighter." Na's Assorted Eight" is a Beijing specialty, but it's too expensive here.In fact, there are many good Chinese restaurants in LA, and they are good or even better. But I still hope US friends can go to China if they have the chance to taste real Chinese food.
The place is a one Michelin star place and it's Chinese cuisine. From my prior experience of visiting Asian restaurants on the Micheline guide, I had a doubt if the guide accurately evaluates Asian food. Since those Michelin Asian restaurants I've been to were not starred. I decided to pay a visit to a Michelin starred Asian restaurant. Also I was curious about Beijing cuisine.Well, my impression is that. It's alright but it's not one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to and my doubt toward Michelin in terms of Asian restaurants is indeed correct. The spicy chicken was so-so. Nothing spectacular. The watermelon drink. Fresh but watermelon is watermelon. Nothing more. The braised pork belly is the best I've ever had so far. I would give them that. The rib. Hmmmm, I don't know if it's just this being Beijing food. I loved first 3-4 pieces but after that it was a bit greasy and the sauces did not help much to remove that taste. Good quality rib sure but is this the best way to cook rib? My opinion differs. For dessert/bakery, I cannot comment since I did not order.Interior-wise. I'd give a credit. Fairly decent interior and their bag design is also good.Overall, worth a try once for this being a Michelin starred restaurant (making this being a fancy Chinese restaurant) and the price isn't too bad. Not sure if I would pay a second visit though.
My 2nd experience with a Michelin star restaurant so I wasn't sure what to expect. And it was pleasant! We can in a group of 6 and ordered 2 appetizers, 6 entrees, and 1 dessert. The appetizers were smoked duck breasts and hidden treasure lotus root. The lotus root was stuff with sticky rice and had a sweet flavor to it. The duck breast had a subtle smoke flavor to them that makes it unique. In terms of entrees, they elevated the traditional Chinese dishes with interesting twists. My favorites were the braised pork belly and crispy shrimp. The pork belly is the best braised item I've tasted anywhere. The chonky cut gave me a mouthful of meat and wonderful flavors. They managed to make the shell of the shrimp actually crispy as the name says. Everything plate we ordered were thoughtful and well crafted.Lastly is Mini Na's Assorted Eight for dessert. Apparently it is so popular that people order them hours ahead because they takes a while to make and the kitchen stop making them after certain time. It was beautiful presented on a wooden box. The first bite was actually strange to me because they tasted somewhat bland. However, the subsequent bite reinforce the genuine flavors of the ingredients. This separate itself from the traditional sweet-tooth dessert experience I always come to expect. Definitely enjoyable and memorable. The bill was quite an ouchy, but at least the food was wonderful and the elaborate decor and atmosphere helped made the experience feel worth it.
食物好吃,擺盘精緻,环境好,地点方便
