I’m a regular customer since more than 3 years. And now that they are partners with the bakery, every time that I go is very inconsistent flavors, different baristas I love to get my ice blended matcha, is very simple to make and they always messed up, they make ice matcha, or they just put water instead of milk, some times they don’t put the extra scoop of matcha that I always ask for And they lie, they mix coffee with my matcha last time I went at 5 pm they refuse to do my drink saying that the coffee side was closed earlier, I hope that the manager or at least the owner offer better training in this area and also customer service, I am not a rude person I am very patient actually but I just can’t believe that some employees don’t put enough effort and attention to detail, if I’m paying more than 5 dollars for a drink I really spect a quality drink or at least with some flavor.
Not even close to a decent place for espresso drinks anymore. I came back because it was a good place to get a quality latfe. No more. Maybe it was because they won't pay enough for a barista that has a clue but who knows. It was the most expensive latte that I have ever bought and one of the worst. As others have said, it was painfuly slow even though there were only a couple of other people in the store ordering. The person that made my order obvisouly had no experience and the person teaching her wasn't looking that experienced either. I asked for a 16 oz latte with an extra shot and got one that was weak. From observing the process, it appeared that they had no clue regarding tamping, etc. I think the espresso ended up not being brewed properly. The taste was not only weak but similar to the garbage served where amateurs make drinks with beans that have been out for months too long. I will NEVER go back. That's too bad because it was a good place in my past pre-covid experiences. However, the bakery part of the store was awesome.
I am so sadly disappointed in this place! I asked for an iced coffee with no ice and they gave me a drink that was less than half way filled. I paid $7 for a drink that can’t even be filled all the way and needs ice in order to look full? What a scam. I will not be returning.
Great coffee and specialty drinks, also good pastries
Extraordinarily slow service. Good coffee, but pleeeease try to make the coffee faster. Starbucks is successful for a reason. Streamline your process and focus while on bar. Customers don't want to wait 10 minutes for a cappuccino when there are no other drinks on the queue.
I really loved the previous location, it had a sort of charm to it. But I am not a fan of this location as much. The line is always weird because they want you to line up by the bakery display case and then they ask you what you want from the bakery but I just want coffee. Then there isn’t much place to stand and wait for your drink if it is busy. The new setup is kind of clunky and awkward. I still love the coffee from here because that hasn’t changed.
I ordered and iced hazelnut latte with oat milk. To my knowledge, iced lattes are made with espresso shots, ice, syrup and a good amount of MILK, the drink I received was more like a BREWED coffee with ice and a splash of creamer or milk, I am unsure if they made a mistake and gave me the wrong type of drink, or if their Hazelnut latte is just bitter and watered down. I was very disappointed. hjenhshssnit to see thag
Good coffee, but apparently you can’t buy beans from this location. New location is harder to get to, often has long lines because it’s shared with a bakery. Beans are the only thing I buy, since I make my own coffee at home. Drove all the way across town to be told I have to buy their beans “online”, even though I could literally see the roasters in the back working away. I’m sure they have a good reason, but won’t explain it to me. I want to support local roasters, but they are making it hard to buy their product. For now I’ll just go to The Press for my beans. Hoping The Bean adjusts this in the future and sell beans to me without having to order online.
I have been coming to Bean for years. The atmosphere when they were located next to Michael's, Big Lots & Armstrong Nursery was AMAZING. The decor, the waterfall feature on the patio, it was my go-to for coffee dates with friends. Learned that they merged with The Batter Up Bakery (who has really delicious treats, btw!) So we went to check them out & grab my favorite vanilla late w lavender. I must say, I love both of these places, so the merger makes sense, and eliminates having to drive to another place, but I miss the vibe Bean had. I hope they can somehow create a cool concept that makes the two businesses flow like one.
Bean Coffee Roasters has merged locations with Batter-Up Bakery. The coffee shop has lost its vibe and feels like a watered down experience of what it used to be. Ordering is a nightmare now because the line is busy with both customers of the bakery and the coffee shop. If Bean wants to survive with new partnership they need to figure out a better system/division of patrons. I've seen that bakery go through at least 3 different owners and name changes, hopefully it doesn't foreshadow the future of Bean.
