Great local hangout, I had a combo Philly cheesesteak with onion rings. Very good. Really crowded place but they get you in and out fast.
I Went here when I was 22 and crazy. Burgers and drinks were always GOOD. 43 years later my wife and I returned (Im Still Crazy LOL) and the food and drinks are even better!! Dan at the bar Is the Man. He makes one hec of a Mexican Mule. Tip Him Well, he's a great man. My Favorite Place ... end of story (:
Got a beer here and decided to get food. Got a Philly cheese steak and it was very okay. Nothing to write home about. Girl friend got a grilled chicken sandwich and it was below her expectations. Would just stick with getting beer here. Maybe I'll come back and get a burger and give it a better shot at it.
This is my favorite bar-food place, and worth the drive from South San Jose. The staff is extremely friendly, and the cooks do a great job of getting the food ready quickly. The fries are the best in San Jose, maybe in California!
The inside of St. John's gives a community vibe. You can tell that most people inside was a regular and this was my first time here. The barbeque chicken special was amazing. There was so much flavor and I can't believe how soft and tender the meat was considering it was grilled. I just wish it was hotter when I received it. The fries that came with it was also less than lukewarm. I'm not sure what happened there. The burger was also really solid.
Fries were different and flavourful. Order was out quickly, place was busy. My chicken was moist, but my friend's was dried.
This place is good if you know what to order. For the most part this is a burger joint and their burgers are good. Pre-Covid they offered half off burgers on Saturdays, I think, which was a really good deal since a burger with fries and a drink will set you back almost $20. I’ve had chicken here and it really hasn’t been enjoyable at all. The two times I had chicken it was over cooked, tough, and flavorless. Their cheesesteaks are ok but honestly go to Amato’s if you want a cheesesteak. All in all it’s a solid place to grab a bite with friends and family if you’re craving a good burger.

Love St. John's. From all of the places that I have eaten at, St. John's has the best hamburgers anywhere. Great atmosphere is a plus.
