Has its good and bad days, but I've generally liked the food at this Indian food truck. The Amritsari Kulcha with Shahi Paneer is a favorite of mine. There are several other food trucks in the same street, if the options in John don't float your boat.Parking is a downright pain though as the street gets busy, would recommend visiting before 7:30.
Great chaat for the price. There are a bunch of food trucks in the area. Johal serves both chaat and main course. Chaat was tasty, we tried aloo tikki chaat and samosa chaat, both were good. The area is good for quick take out, it is a little hard to find a parking spot in the street.
Johal Chaat and Curry came highly recommended by friends. We went tonight and the place did not disappoint! It was a large group of us and we all shared dahi chaat, amritsari kulcha with cholley and with shahi paneer, mango lassi, nimbu paani, rooh afzah (water one), and malai kulfi. Reminded me of Punjabi street food in all its glory. The dishes came out piping hot and hit the spot on a chilly evening. The food was flavorful and the taste was better than traditional Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. It would be icing on the cake if there was ample parking or some foldable tables and chairs. We had to walk quite a bit to where we parked to enjoy the food, but nevertheless, it was a memorable evening with good food and good company ❤️
Loved their Amritsari Chole Kulche, Dal Makhni and Garlic Naan. Their Shahi Paneer was one of the better ones of the lot which I've tried in America. They don't skimp on the Paneer! I did not find their Saag Aloo to my liking. Great place to eat Indian food on the cheap, since all of their dishes seemed fresh and had an authentic flavor.I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had the Mumbai style authentic vada pav, spicy coconut (?) dry chutney and fried chillies included!
Best vada pav I have ever had !
Decent place to snack on in the evening! We had the pani Puri and bread pakora! Pani Puri not so good ! Bit spicy and specially didn’t like the Puris :( Bread pakora was nice and smoking hot! Do try the malai kulfi! It’s yumm ! Creamy and pretty close to Indian standards!
Chat was 4/5 good price.
The chicken curry tastes a lot like the famous Indian railways chicken curry. It’s great!
Amazing food. Best Amritsari kulcha, vada pav that I have ever had. Malai kulfi is a must try and will remind you of home. ?
The Amritsari Kulcha with Shahi Paneer, along with a cup of Rooh Afza Milk or Masala Chai, is a lovely combination.
