Food was so good. Pork and chive steamed dumplings were fav. Bok choy super tasty!
I was craving dumplings and beef pancake yesterday. Marina ordered Shanghai soup dumplings and pot stickers. UberEATS got me her order, not sure if she got mine. They were very good. The handmade skin and the fillings are real. With food this good, you don't need a big portion.
I highly recommend this place! I thought the beef pancake roll was a home run (and much larger than I was expecting)! The soup dumplings were also great, and I thought the bacon and basil fried rice was awesome too.
Pretty good place to get some dumplings but they have many other choices including hot & sour soup, fried rice, chow mein, and other classics. Great spot for vegetarians/vegans. Prices are quite reasonable too. I got the green chive dumplings with egg (12 pieces) and loved it, quite delicious and filling. Complimentary tea is a nice touch as well.
The inside of the restaurant is pretty simple with 8 tables spread out.Parking is easy and here are the highlights:Price : compared to another establishment I was considering, their menu items are $10-15.Quickness of the food: I think there is magic in the kitchen, but everything we ordered comes out within 5 minutes. I don't know how they do it. Everything from eggplant to salt and pepper fish, to maopao tofu.Taste: very tasty! The XLB was great! So were all the dishes. The only item was the maopao tofu which was way too salty.I would definitely come back again when I'm craving Chinese food! (Like....all the time!)
Very good taste. I have not eat this kind of pure hand made dumpling skin for a long time. I also order a dan-dan noodle, it is delicious. Definitely will visit again to try other dishes. They have another branch in the San Bruno area, I may be go there instead. But, it is worth to try.$$$ 5% off if you pay cash $$$
Had the Vegetarian dumplings and they were great. I also had pork dim sum, they were okay. We also had the salt and pepper wings, they were delicious. For a quick stop, last minute dinner, it was good. The whole place would look better if they kept up with the cleaning. ? The restroom as well.
Really great place in Sunnyvale to get dumplings. This is my go to for any sort of dumpling they have on the menu and they recently have started allowing indoor dining again. My favorite item on the menu is the beef pancake roll! Make sure it’s the roll that has the tender braised beef. I accidentally ordered the beef pancake when I meant to order the beef pancake roll, won’t make that mistake again!
The FoodThe old soup dumpling place I used to frequent closed down, now I am in search of a new, better place. Dumpling Depot piqued my interest when I saw the variety of dumplings they offer. My friend and I ordered a bit between the two of us.- Shanghai Soup Dumpling (灌湯小籠包)- Pork Pot Sticker (豬肉鍋貼)- Pork Dumpling w/ Napa Cabbage (白菜豬肉水餃)- Beef Stew Soup Noodle (牛腩湯麵)The Shanghai Soup Dumpling, Pork Dumpling w/ Napa Cabbage, and Pork Pot Sticker were good. The soup dumplings were pretty consistent, and I liked the crispy of the pot stickers. The Beef Stew Soup Noodle had an interesting soup base, not sure how I feel about it. It was not bad, the beef and noodles had a good flavor. I would like to return another time to try some of their other dishes.The MiscellaneousThe restaurant is in a small plaza so there is some parking available. The inside was not as large as expected, but there are still a decent amount of seats. The service for the food was quite reasonable, not a long wait. The staff I interacted with was sincere. They have quite the variety and selection on their menu. If you want to try everything it'll take a few visits. They also had Frozen Dumplings of various kinds, but those were cash only. Their prices are also reasonable when compared to other dumpling shops. Would recommend trying this place out for those that have dumpling cravings.
When I took my first bite from my wonton noodles, I thought I was in heaven. The dumplings are so succulent and plump. They tasted so authentic like mom's home cooking. It is honestly a taste I haven't found in regular Chinese restaurants. I highly recommend their wontons. Have it with a plate of dumplings to share with your friends. This little hole-in-the-wall is a must try. Thank you Dumpling Depot! I look forward to my next visit here!
