The food can be good… But the parking area is awful… With very unprofessional Valet parking personal… they have a lot of parking spots, just for valet charging a lot of money, and I couldn’t park on my ownNOT WORTH IT!! ?
I went from hard-core vegetarian to pescatarian because I lived a walking distance between katsu-ya and Kiwami. This is where I quickly learned a love for sushi. Every item is delightful. Every item. I can't speak for the octopus, because that's where I draw the line. The staff at Katsu-ya and Kiwami are so sweet and will remember you. Due to sight loss, I moved to Hollywood to be in a public transportation zone and walkable to everything, but I go back occasionally and I'm long overdue. To those giving less stars because of parking, it's not Katsu-ya's fault you choose to own a car. Go Metro. It's stress-free.
This location is EXTREMELY horrible and RUDE to its patrons. If i could give half a star i would. Rates a 1 out of 10 for me. The parking area is small, which is fine because there was plenty of empty spots. There are two “take out only” spots in front of the entrance doors and the rest of the 20 spots were open. The “valet guy” asked me to give him my keys after i parked my own vehicle. He said if i don’t he will “tell the manager because Katsu-Ya doesn’t want to pay for their customers to park on the private parking lot”… so he did and she proceeds to tell me to leave my keys or park on the street. This makes NO SENSE since there were plenty of open spots in the Parking area. So, they have lost my group of 5 as customers. Extremely rude and unprofessional behavior to the potential customers! I highly recommend that people do not go here and deal with their disrespectful way of being.
Came here with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it! Doesn't look like much from the outside but it's so cute inside, actually feels like Japan and the atmosphere is really chill. Sushi was incredible, their unagi is honestly one of the best I've ever had and price is lower than I would have expected for this quality. Will definitely be back!!
Sushi Katsu-Ya is a fantastic sushi experience, no matter which location you go to. Everything from the sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, and specially rolls are all really great.Make sure to try the Corn Tempura and Popcorn Shrimp over Spicy Tuna!

Always has been the definition of a no frills, mind-blowingly awesome sushi. He invented the Spicy Tuna rice cakes and several other standards. If you like Sugarfish- this is your Daddy. Bring bank because it's priced appropriately and worth it.

I was recommended to this place by one of my clients. My friend and I went there last night. Reservations highly recommended. The service was excellent the food was absolutely amazing! And the price was ridiculously affordable. Great energy in the dining room. Loved every single minute of it. This will definitely be our new sushi spot. Best sushi restaurant I’ve been to and all of LA. If you like to enjoy yourself when you go out and love sushi - this is the place.??
