I heard about Sugarfish from a few people and decided to try it for dinner last week with my wife. Wonderful quality and everything was gorgeous. The blue crab roll was delicious, and my favorite! Excites to try more here.
Surprisingly small venue so no wonder you have to wait for a table! I had the Trust Me menu and it was fabulous. I enjoyed getting the courses individually and actually never experienced Sushi rice warm. The hand rolls were really unique and delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful. Since I was one, I sat at the bar and did not have a feeling of being crammed. I will definitely return!
Great food and good service in general (usually) I have been here many times over the last 10 years and I have been very satisfied but this was my first time in the new location at the sportsman lodge location.The new location is very nice. We were seated quickly but the service was a bit slow, the food did not come out as I requested for special items outside of the planned meal and the chefs decided to sort out when I got my a la Carte as opposed to when I requested them and that is unacceptable when you are paying premium prices.If I want Uni or Unagi or sweet shrimp in the middle of my meal I want it then and not at the end.Oh and no sweets to end the night just adds to their need to turn tables over as soon as they can with a 48 person capacity it is a really small establishment that begs for you to look elsewhere these days with so many option available and without the wait and price.
Usually a 10/10 but not tonight. After a 2 hour wait, the first dish was so cold we couldn’t even taste the fish. My water smelled like fish. We were 4 people and we all ordered the “trust me” but some of us would get a dish 5 minutes apart from the others. They failed to tell us they were out of yellowtail until it was time to bring it to our table. And because we were there for 3 hours parking was $12. Save yourself the trouble and go to any other sugarfish location for a better experience.
Outstanding. My 16yo picky son's first time having sushi. He loved it and said every different fish was great. He's spoiled... Will never be able to eat lesser quality fish again!
When unhappy about a restaurants wait times in LA... to all you whiners and complainers... order in! omg it's LA and if the foods great (like here) THERE'S GOING TO BE A WAIT time even if you make a reservation and especially if you show up late for that!My wife and I love treating ourselves to Sushi night on Fridays and avoid the crowds by ordering SUGARFISH to OUR HOUSE and have 0 wait time!
Found this tuna sashimi so off putting. A small amount of it was a deep maroon color (fresh) and the rest was bright pink (gassed). Would you have served this to a dine in customer? Between this and the very molded piece of lemon I got the last time I ordered takeout, I'm beginning to suspect you give your worst quality ingredients to people you know won't see them until it's too late.
It was Dine LA. The toro roll was exceptional. All of the sushi was excellent. Great anniversary lunch.
Very small portions and the quality seems to be lacking lately. I’ve been many times but lately it’s been a very disappointing experience!
It's easily my least favorite location. I guess there is still room to grow, but this new store is not consistent in service or quality.Will give them another try but will probably trek to Pasadena store a few times before and update if they improve here.
