Just straight up bad. Huge waste of money. I tried the beef and broccoli. They served me some gooey brown stuff with undercook broccoli. Then I ordered the pork belly which was dryer than a hot summer day in the Valley. I would avoid at all cost.
Probably the worst take out I’ve had in years. The only thing that was flavored was the oil. Which was overflowing in the absolute wrong tastes. Would never come back here again. Everything has a taste of cod liver oil
This is the second time we have been here this month. The first time experience was great. Wanted to come back to check consistency and met my expectations . We started eating before I was able to capture the food in pictures. We had to make a reservation for a party of seven and did not have any issues as we were seated straight away. I like this place since everything was fresh and love the experience of ordering instead of your traditional push cart. We were not rushed and enjoyed every moment. This is my go to place since it’s closer than going to Chinatown or SGV.
Been coming here for a few years and since I am a local, have been supporting this business throughout the pandemic. They have picked up business lately and have gotten a lot busier than it has been but the food quality has dropped dramatically, the prices have increased ridiculously and their portion sizes have gotten much smaller. If I had a crystal ball, I wouldn't have tried to help keep this place afloat during the last 2 years if I knew this is what it would turn into. I will not be returning to this restaurant unless they change in a big way, otherwise I will be waiting for the next restaurant to take over this killer space when this one inevitably fails.
I'm a long time customer of Shanghai Rose.We come here strictly for their dim sum. They use to be a 5 star place to eat, but after today, I downgrade them to 2 stars.I understand having to raise prices, $2 - $3 for each dim sum item, I have no problem with that. But when you raise prices and also cut the portion size in half, that's taking it too far. Before I would get 3 bites out of each pork shumai..now they're bite size.Shrimp rice noodle use to have 3 shrimp in each roll...now there's only 2. You get 3 rolls per order with only 6 shrimp total. They use to be $4.89 now they're $7.98.What a joke.Baked pork buns were just a little bigger than a quarter, literally bite size or 2 small bites. The crispy shrimp rolls use to be huge for $6.89, now you get 2 bites in one roll and they're $10.98.Only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because their dim sum is still very tasty.I'm hoping I just came on an off day.A manic Monday perhaps.Going to give them one more try on a Friday or Saturday. If portions remain severely downsized, I hate to say that I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Terrible service. I was first greeted by Rose and I replied in a polite manner. Rose looked me up and down and assumed that I didn’t have any money. I rolled my eyes and gave her the benefit of the doubt, and right when I made my way to the Women’s restroom she said, you cannot use it until you eat and pay the tab. I left the food on the table and walked straight out. You can’t deny people access to the restroom if they’re making an attempt to give you business.
This place is legit the best. Been coming here for years and currently on winter break of college. It tastes like home, literally the day I got off the plane for break I got food from here for dinner. Everything is incredibly filling and delicious. Seriously, the food is amazing!!!!
Fantastic, delicious perfectly prepared food served by lovely people. Rose, the owner, is a gem. Rose is funny, charming and the driving force behind the incredible menu and great service. Legit Chinese cuisine and a well thought out menu will have you back on a regular basis.
Excellent chicken corn soup, the beef crisp noodles were great. The mixed fried rice with salty fish was different and tasty. Good place for your palata.
This place exudes authenticity and food credibility. Simple Chinese dishes elevated to new heights.
