I've been meaning to go to this place for years and after someone recommended I go there I convinced my co-worker to come with me and we were both totally underwhelmed. The bartender that served us was 2 seconds from flipping into a coma. He wasn't even behind the bar pretty much 90% of the time we were there and he was either drugged out or just didn't want to be there and I think pouring drinks at a bar that's not that busy isn't the worst job there is. He didn't inform us on happy hour or really speak to us at all. We ordered some tacos that were extremely small although they were good we were both surprised at how tiny they were. There was one bigger bartender with a thick beard who was pretty friendly and that was appreciated. I really think customer service can go a long way in bringing in people to your establishment and wanting them to return. Overall not a bad experience I just think their employees need to wake up and be a little more friendly.
I am not happy to leave this review. First, I'd like to say that the servers were 5/5 stars. Absolutely amazing service. The drinks were acceptable, but the food was embarrassing. The street corn was $13. $13 for probably previously frozen yellow corn on the cob. For $6, you can have the best street corn I've ever tasted down the way at Roadside Tacos. The tacos my husband ordered had the same sauce on them and was unimpressed. The guacamole had the consistency of baby food. I was so disappointed in this experience. If you're coming for tequila shots and a game, you're in luck, but please avoid the food.
Loved the fries but my friend hated her street corn. The service was great our server was very friendly.
The service and atmosphere were excellent. Server was funny and knowledgeable without being over bearing. Had sports on the TV and good music playing. Wasn't crowded for a Sunday evening which is perfect. The only thing to improve were the chicken and pork tacos could have a little more seasoning but overall I would come back again!
Buy one get one free drinks for happy hour on certain items. Food is terrible, would not order again. Service was slow, but the waitress was nice.
Took forever to bring my gf her salsa but ‘twas a good crowd and they had a plethora of sports channels on every TV which was nice to binge on while sipping margaritas before heading to go see the Hollywood sign. Tacos trick you with the price and are so puny there was like literally 3 pieces of meat on each one. The epitome of highway robbery
On a quiet Monday night, my wife and I, along with her sister and her sister's husband decided to give Jalapeno Pete's a try.Positioned on Ventura Blvd, the interior vibes are warm and vibrant, with roll-up doors that give the establishment a pleasant and welcoming, open-air feel. One con for this is traffic noise — especially excessively loud sports cars that frequently startled us mid-conversation. Jalapeno Pete's is positioned across from a commercial parking lot as well, so don't expect any scenery if you decide to dine outdoors. The food was well cooked, quickly delivered, and most importantly, hot. We first received chips and salsa, which had a rich, smokey flavor that was neither too bland, nor offensively spicy — delicious! I had Pete's Burrito with carne asada. It was flavorful and well portioned. We also got wings, asada fries, tacos, and quesadillas — all of which were rich with flavor and hot out the kitchen. Our only disappointment with food was that they were out of corn so we couldn't try their Street Corn.Drinks — going to go off of the rest of my party's input here as I was DD that night. Past 9pm almost all drinks are buy one get one free. This means 9p+ is the only time you should be buying drinks at the prices on the menu... Unless of course you've got Jeffrey Bezos money. Beer selection is minimal, but fair — they'll have something you'll definitely be happy with, even if they don't carry your go-to. As for margaritas, the girls said they were okay — they did not taste fresh, most likely made with mixers that leave a processed aftertaste. Unfortunately they were out of Watermelon so they were unable to try that one. The cactus margarita was terribly sweet (as warned by our waitress) — it could (and should) be balanced out a bit as the sweetness was overbearing on the flavor.Service is Pete's biggest flaw in my personal opinion. Our waitress seemed to be the only staff taking orders and checking up on customers throughout the entire dining area — which got decently busy around 10p. We were rarely checked up on and there was no initiative to bring refills for water or fountain drinks without asking. I feel like if we hadn't gone on a Monday night this may not have been an issue, but this was unfortunately our experience.Overall we had a decent experience at Jalapeno Pete's. It is definitely not going on my list of go-to establishments but it's definitely on my "would give this another shot" list. While Pete's can improve on service and menu item availability, overall we had a nice time and hope to revisit to update this review accordingly.
Good food, Good music and Friendly people. Great place to chill with coworkers.
As of 2022, my recent visit was pleasant. Alberto was so helpful in helping me choose the perfect drink for the night.
Great sports bar to catch a game, especially when it's nice out and they can open up all the windows. Chiefs bar on Sundays, which is always an awesome time.We always get the nachos. Cocktails are a little pricey, but about on par with most of LA.
