I tried, I really did. I came here with my family to have dinner. This was one of our old spots we decided to give a try again. Walking in we noticed the place was emptier than usual, but we thought it was just because of the date and time. When we ordered drinks, they came out mixed up, to the wrong person, and in some cases even the wrong drink. We ordered a wide variety of food, starting with the wokomole. Please dont order this. It tastes like bland baby food with a hint of ginger. The chips that come with it are pretty good though. The hot and sour soup was fine, but all the meats were either too dry or overloaded with sauce. We left with full stomachs, but weren't too satisfied. Maybe sometime in the near future I will return here and enjoy my meal, but untill then, I am going to take a little break from Wok City.
This place has authentic flavors, a hip atmosphere, and a very helpful staff. It's in a great location also. Definitely recommended for great Chinese food.
I have eaten at this restaurant for years, and the food has always been good. Today was not a good day at City Wok. I ordered spinach salad and the spinach was chewy, the chicken in the salad was chewy - I just threw the entire salad out. Further, the cashew chicken dish was also a problem. Sauce was too thick, everything was stuck together like it was thawed or something, and the rice was soggy. Get it together.
Love this little plaza. Been going there for 10 years. The Ralph's is a wonderful grocery store with street and lower level entrance, via elevator. The card shop has a wonderful plethora of cards and gift items. There's a StarBucks, pharmacy and icecream store too.We always get a good meal at City Wok! I love the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and the Crispy Wings. The drinks are in large, old fashion plastic cups. You get plenty for your money!If the parking lot is crowded, go down to the lower level parking at the entrance off Vineland. Then take the closest elevator on your right to come baxk up to street level.There is a second level by way of an escalator. This plaza is just west of Universal Studios, down Ventura Blvd, just before Vineland.
I’m sure the food was good, but they say they’re open until 10pm online and we were just told (at 8:55pm) that they’re no longer taking dine in. Not very nice about it either.
The CityWok beef and the CityWok chicken is like crack candy. Delicious and addicting. They have a location on Palm Desert too, but I wished they had more.
A busy place at dinner time. Lots of customers ordering food to go and coming in for pick-up. Good tasting food. Parking not a problem.

You haven't had Orange Chicken until you have it from City Wok DELICIOUS flavor in every bite. Don't forget their Spring rolls and Singapore noodles ?
I will not order from City Wok again. Last time I placed an order it was prompt and I had no issues. This time however was the opposite. I placed a delivery order and wrote in the comments for them to call me when they arrived so I could pick it up. While I was called when the food food arrived it took almost an extra 30 minutes to arrive and I couldn’t reach the restaurant. The phones just kept ringing before disconnecting much like another reviewer here said.
