Best Sushi I have ever had!
Made reservations for my birthday with outdoor seating. All 4 people in my group got the Omakase "B" and some sake, and it was very delicious. The servers adhered to our dietary restrictions (one person couldn't have dairy, and another couldn't have beef), and explained each dish to us as they were served. The meal was very filling and we left satisfied. My friend tells me they even have a bidet in the bathroom. Definitely deserving of their Michelin Star. Valet parking seems like the only feasible option unless you can miraculously find street parking on a Sunday night.
Asanebo is an outstanding favorite in an area that's dense with competitive sushi restaurants. Service is efficient and courteous. The omakase courses are all beautifully prepared and exquisitely made. Its an experience.Asanebo is well known and often busy so best to make reservations in advance. Parking is limited but there is valet out front.
The omakase B is worth the price. Delicate and delicious balance of flavors!
Pretentious. We arrived on time to a dining room with one other couple and were seated right next to them. After squeezing into our seats and providing drink orders, a waiter asked if we'd like to move to a different table to be less crowded. We accepted the offer and started to move. Seconds later, the waiter said we couldn't move after all because the other table (in the near-empty dining room) was reserved an hour later, so we squeezed back into the tiny table next to the other couple. A lot of emphasis was placed on the 90-minute table limit. We ordered 2 items and left within 30 minutes. Hope they were able to turn the table over in the remaining 60 minutes. Take the 1-star Michelin notice from 2008 off your website. Peaking 13 years ago is nothing to be proud of.
I flew from Denver to LA to visit a friend of mine and explore, I told him to take me to wherever his heart desired. He made the reservation for Asanebo and raved about it. It was definitely worth the hype. This is probably one of the BEST restaurants I have been to in my entire life. Our host was an absolute angel, he took care of us and I could feel that he genuinely cared about us. His name was Kunio! I want to personally thank everyone working yesterday night, the experience was exquisite. 11/10 would recommend to everyone.
Food is really gourmet and absolutely exquisite. Service was excellent. Order was ready exactly on time. Arigato gozai mas!!!
We were rushed egregiously and they we’re out of half the things we ordered. Won’t come again.
Unfortunately, not what it used to be. Good fish, some gimmicky dishes that don't resemble anything close to traditional sushi and nice servers. But it used to be so good and now its just another good sushi outpost in studio city, but not special. Many other better sushi restaurants in LA.
Incredible service, very warm and accommodating. Standouts were the salmon, seabass lettuce & halibut with truffle
