Food is okay… the rest, forget about it!Our order was handed one at a time… rolls are so tiny for the price. My family had finished their food, I’m still waiting on my order. I waited patiently for awhile, customers who’s sat down and ordered after us were getting their food! I finally walked up to register area to get their attention. They we’re blank and didn’t even let me know if it was coming or being made. I walked back to our table and my husband finally asked for a refund. Then they tell him it’s almost ready ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ I had already lost my appetite. Oh! They didn’t even bother to ask if I wanted my refund back on the payment method I used, instead was given cash smh.

So you pay before you sit down and menu is limited. Even if there's no person behind you, the pictures and the list of food is overwhelming to look at on the wall and at the counter that you feel somewhat pressured to order. I don't like the set up and would probably go to a different japanese restaurant for any japanese cravings.

When you first walk in you pay before you sit down. I ordered spicy edamame and a Philadelphia roll. My mother ordered Ramen.Spicy edamame 7/10 Great flavor Tiny portionPhiladelphia roll 7/10 Decent flavor Too much rice not enough meat

I have to say I was very disappointed with the the customer service, no one was friendly , no one smiled , and YES even though they are masked, you can still tell when someone is smiling or even enthusiastic to help, this is SOOO NOT the case here... when I asked my waitress what she recommended , she knew nothing about the menu...We ordered calamari for our appetizer instead we got what tasted like fish sticks with tarter sauce. NOT GOOD AT ALL!!I will say that the 3 rolls we ordered were very good. Not to eager about going back soon. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE OWNER PHIL JUST LAUGHS AT PEOPLES REVIEWS...

Ordered delivery from here for the first time today. Tiger roll wasn't bad, I've had better and worst. The chicken teriyaki bowl was gross. The chicken was rubbery and felt like days old chicken reheated. And there was something off with the taste. I now feel sick to my stomach and will not be getting food from here again.

You would expect that ramen 101 has really good ramen but this place is so much better and it's right across the street. It has great variety and the servers are very nice. The only complaint I have is that it's always busy, but it's definitely justified!

New post: Dinner tonight was the tempura appetizer and chirashi bowl. As always, very tasty! The tempura was crunchy with just the right amount of salt. The chirashi was loaded with ahi, Albacore, hamachi, octopus, red snapper, salmon and salmon tataki, garnished with sliced white onions, green onions, and tobiko. Our servers were consistent with their attention on telling drinks and asking how our meal was going. ShoMi is a great spot for Japanese cuisine. Definitely in my list of favorites.

This lovely small Japanese restaurant offers excellent service. The unagi was delicious and tasted extremely fresh. We also really liked the calamari and variety of the tempura veg. The calamari had a velvety texture and was cooked well. It was really nice to see seasonal winter squash in the tempura and it was very tasty. That being said there were some issues.I ordered a dragon roll which was good but was lacking unagi on several pieces. I was a little sad due to the eel being so good. It just wasn't on every piece. My wife got gyu-don and was a little disappointed that it didn't have a traditional fried egg. It was also a too sweet for her palate. You do have to order and pay before sitting which was different.

One of the best sushi places in Stockton. The quality of the fish is excellent, try the Hamachi Carpaccio or the Seared Tuna salad. The rolls are very taste and they make it easy to order online and pick up.

Food was good, nit worth a 35 minute wait, tables were nothing nice, not a place to take a date.
