We love Teani's Italian Deli. We come for the sandwiches and love the friendly atmosphere and historic decoration around the little grocery store.The owner, Harold, is a joy to talk with and the ladies behind the counter remember my brother and I, each time we get our orders.I appreciate the community vibe and excellent sandwiches at Teani's.
Best sandwich I've ever had. They're huge and delicious & fairly priced for what you get. I live nowhere close to their location but I will drive there just to get their sandwiches. Wish they were closer to my house!
I’ve been coming to Teani’s once or twice a week now for the past month while working in the area. The tri-tip sandwich is excellent. The crab sandwich is real crab and all the other sandwiches I tried are pretty good! It’s just not worth standing in line for 30-45 minute for sandwich that’s practically the same and Teani’s was Little Luca back in the days anyway.
Good solid and big sandwiches. Only problem was I was there at 1:45 and they only had 3 rolls left. Too early in the day to run out especially since sandwiches are the main reason for coming.
We went in. Parking is not easy. Side St. Is not far. Went in & saw one of the Original siblings. We talked there were a few ppl in line. We talked about the old days & everything of why they sold the original Little Lucca's. Taste as Great as the Original did/does. So if You're in the south city area Go Here. Yea price has gone up ,but where hasn't the price gone up? The only reason I gave 4 star is because a few things my Wife asked for they were out of. Well it's not because the 2 women weren't quick & working hard! They also made the line go quick. Now because we live in Hayward we're not getting over a lot. When we do we will not be there near closing time so the things my Wife wants will be gone. OH & if while in there You want some italian food to make or have at Home? On the shelf is some Italian food items. The italian cake by a table. Oh & while I was waiting for my Wife's to be finished I looked at All the Antique items they had. So enjoyable! Oh & the board is a little to read. Also need to write out a veggie sandwich. So If You want an Original Little Lucca Sandwich Go HERE!?
Not great sandwiches. Went here and got myself a turkey, bacon, avocado on Dutch crunch and the nice thing I'll say about the sandwich is that they loaded it up with a lot of turkey and it was pretty darn big. However, the Dutch crunch bread was abysmal. Absolutely no crunch and kind of starchy. It got really powdery in my mouth. Other things I noticed is that while they were nice to offer me the garlic sauce on both sides of the bread, it was just way too much in terms of sauce and garlic. I prefer the secret sauce at the sandwich spot, which is a similar idea, but less heavy on the garlic. Overall, not a fan of the flavor of my sandwich.The hubby got a caprese like sandwich, which he too didn't really like. The garlic sauce was too much and the other ingredients were just OK.Weird ambiance that was trying to be old timey, but it reminded me of a dirty thrift shop.I don't live too close to Teani's so I don't really think I'll be back.
This place was busy but they were apologetic. Food was good.
Always a great sandwich..nice people, and a small market for Italian foods.. way better than that luccas place up the street. Plus it's a MUSEUM! So much history packed.into that place, mostly from right here in town and in SF.
The sandwiches are amazing fresh and delicious. The staff is so friendly I love the 2 ladies who work there very sweet and hard working. I come here every week for lunch meat sandwiches and little Italian items. It's very nostalgic walking into this deli. I love it. Give it a try.
UP THERE WITH LITTLE LUCCA . Bomb sandwich ! If your in the bay area it’s a must try !!
