4/16/2022 -,A TASTE OF TAIWAN HOME COOKINGThat’s my personal impression when I had for the first time a Beef & Bitter Melon dish for lunch. The beef is thinly sliced, the melon nice and crispy, the sauce light and well seasoned. The accompanying soup is clear and tasty with some pieces of pork mixed with cubes of tofu and some black eye beans. The soft egg adds more smoothness and taste to the steamed rice. This place is a wonderful alternative to other Chinese restaurants on Grand Avenue where the dishes are too oily and the sauce too heavy and the price much higher. For now I will surely go back and try different dishes at Grand Cafe and dream of a near future where I can sit at the Chang Kai Check Airport enjoying local Taiwanese noodle soup and watching the airplanes landing and taking off…as I always did for so many years.

This is a 3.5 star establishment for sure. Reasonable prices given crazy inflation and decent food, nothing fancy of course. However just know that they usually call out numbers in Cantonese but I'm sure they'll do English when no one claims their food. The concept is good but we had to walk from our table to the counter 4 separate times in total to pick up our order. How about work on a better execution of your bussing system?

Most of their menu items are under $10, which is a rare thing to see these days. The beef chow fun was good, and the soup and drink that come with the meal are a nice bonus.

Really easy, affordable, and tasty place to get food! I really enjoyed #42. It did take a while for it to come out but it was worth it.

This is a self service restaurant. Very disorganized way of serving good. First you have to place an order. Today, the order # is different on the menu board versus the paper menu so I ended up ordering the wrong item because I used the paper menu. They actually have a stack of old paper menu sitting under the menu board. That's why I ordered the wrong item. After you order & paid, they give you a number which refers to your order so you find a table, sit down & wait to be called. They call your number when they have the drinks ready but the food item come out at different times so if you order a few items, you would have to go up the counter to pick it up when they call your number again & again. Pretty much anything you order won't come out at the same time. It can be that someone in your group is done eating their food before you get yours especially when they are busy. Not a good system. After done eating, you have to bust your own table. The food is alright. Their beef stew is probably is the best item.

I would rate food as “edible.” I would not recommend people here for the quality of the food. But when most items are under $10 ($10 as in $10 total, not $10 on the menu, but then comes out to $15 after tax and tips), this place is amazing. My go to lunch place when I don’t want anything else. Cheap, quality good enough, and filling.

This is my first time having lunch in this Cafe. It was a nice comfortable and clean Cafe. The food was nice and the service was good too. I ordered the chicken rice, which comes with a small bowl of soup and the drink is free! The price is very reasonable too. This is a like self service style Cafe, so they don't require tip, but you need to clean up your own table and bring the tray to the collection spot.I will definitely come again to try out different food.

Such a cute place with delicious fresh oj and breakfast. All of the staff were so friendly. I am visiting from Albuquerque and loved this place

Comfort food at affordability. Can't complaint too much. I placed an order over the phone for 4 items, total about $26.00 with good amount of portion size. And complementary drink too. Many more room for improvement. Will comeback and provide with more details info next time.
