Cute spot right off highway. Been there a LONG time but its earned its reputation for tasty and affordable breakfasts and lunches. About 10 tables, counter seating for 8 and 4 tables for outdoor seating, so get there early or be patient. They tout their waffles but I actually love their pancakes more. ! fills and entire plate and is tender and delicious. Hubby enjoyed the huge BLT on sourdough bread with their great fries, but I always go for breakfast. He also loves their chicken fried steak nd it makes 2 large meals for him! THe pancake sandwich is a great deal for 1 large pancake, 1 egg, and 3 pieces bacon for $10.95.
Best breakfast experience in a long time! Everyone was incredibly polite and super friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious.
Ate here on our way out of town from a company retreat, on a Sunday morning. Probably the best meal i had all weekend. Nice quaint place. Staff were all friendly. No waiting, but we did best the morning rush. (If this were in my home town, there would be an hour wait ). Would have been 5 stars if they had pepper plant, or if pancakes a bit fluffier. My biscuit and heavy were tasty! Definitely will come here when in the area.

Tiny cafe delivers big on taste! We love everything on this menu. Limited seating and parking, but great food and staff. Reasonable pricing. Order the waffles, you will NOT be disappointed. Strollers will not fit, leave them in the car. Red Hut Cafe is the kind of place that becomes a tradition to enjoy every time you come to Tahoe. Try visiting outside of the rush hour for the best service and shorter waiting time.
I like to eat here occasionally. My regular order is the usual special or simply some biscuits or gravy. On this order however I was feeling a little bit extra hungry and I asked for an extra cornbread biscuit. What day instead decided to put on my check was a cornbread waffle. And the ticket price on the cornbread waffle that I was charged was $12.50. when I asked for the cornbread biscuit I figured the upcharge would only be a few dollars, the waffle was not even made out of cornbread, it was insanely thin and not very good.
Awesome flavor for reasonable prices. I never had bacon inside a waffle before I decided to try it and it was really good! Michael (if I remember his name correctly) was my server and he accommodated every request and never stopped smiling. Highly recommended.

I received my food, could cut my steak with my fork, my eggs cooked to protection, by the way over medium is one of the hardest egg to get just right, and the hash browns crunchy around the edges but soft and buttery inside. My new favorite breakfast place, oh and you can also buy reasonably priced souvenirs. I love south Lake Tahoe and I love the little red and white breakfast house, Red Hut. Well worth every cent.
