Loved this cafe. Stopped there for breakfast. The owner greeted us as we checked in. There was a wait however you are sitting outside amongst the trees and beautiful mountains so not an inconvenience. We were seated at a table outside. Reading the menu of unique breakfast items made my mouth water. The food did not disappoint! Service was excellent. Do not drive by this cafe on Hwy 50 without stopping.
Okay I have to say the staff was so friendly so nice love the atmosphere of this place.. but the only bad thing I have to say is I had the Chilaquiles.. for two eggs some beans some chips with chorizo for an extra $2.. I was still very hungry after I ate this for $17.95 and it was not that good at all.. but the rest of the family enjoyed what they all had.. French toast and pancakes.. but also on the pricey side..
We were on our way to South Lake Tahoe and came across this hidden gem and stopped in for lunch. We were greeted by the owner (a local) who is super friendly and she made us feel right at home. I am bummed I forgot to take pics of our food but everything was amazing! Between the 3 of us, we ordered the Asian chicken sesame salad, a veggie burger, and 1/2 soup & 1/2 salad combo. We sat on the outdoor patio in the sun and the energy was sublime ? Highly recommend!!
It is busy at lunchtime, but fortunately you can always order to go. The food was absolutely the best, the burrito and the sauces were better than at any of the Mexican restaurants I tried this year. The coconut french toast was yummy. Serving sizes are large, two persons can share most dishes served here without staying hungry. Dogs need to stay outside, but plenty of seats are in front of the restaurants for the sunny days.
Chilaquiles, breakfast quesadilla, coconut cream banana French toast, sunrise mimosas, food is to die for and worth every minute of your drive to get here. The owner is so sweet, came and talked with us at our table, we definitely will be back for another breakfast/brunch, but the lunch and entrées sounded just as good. Great stop on the way to or from Kirkwood also!!

Fully deserving 5 star. This is what makes reviews magic, a little hidden and found 5 star dining in a cozy shop with an owner that genuinely cares. Came here after a busy day 5 minutes before they closed (didn't realize it) and they could not have been more delightful, I rarely review but they for sure deserve it. I would have food photos of my massive bacon maple French toast but I dug into it too fast. Was insanely good.

We make a point to have brunch here every time we visit South Lake Tahoe. Everything we have had to eat here has been nothing short of fantastic. The owner and staff have always been pleasant and friendly and our experience last weekend was no different. Everyone we have come into contact with there are welcoming and genuinely friendly people. My wife departed from the usual brunch items and ordered a Patty Melt on our last visit and she said it was the best she has ever had. She did "brunch" it up ordering an egg on the side which then went on top of the Patty Melt, she would recommend you doing the same. Bloody Mary was perfectly spiced and they had an awesome blood orange mimosa that day for my daughter. It is an intimate setting so some patience may be in order to get a table but it is worth the wait. Can't wait to go back and see you all again at The Getaway!
I haven’t stopped craving the corned beef benny plate since I left in April. I haven’t found a place that matches. Hope to get back here one day, if only for this breakfast! Know of a place in Dallas that may rival? Im on the hunt.
