Great local restaurant with fresh ingredients, lots of seafood options as well as vegetarian. Quick friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. Charming cute decor- check out the salt and pepper collection. Reasonably priced. Would go again without hesitation.

What a nice bunch of people. We pre-ordered from the parking lot at Heavenly Valley and showed up to have everything ready. Do not miss the Hawaiian style ribs. We didn't. I can't comment on any dishes than that, but what I can say is that two of us went home very fed fans. I love this place!!

The food was delicious and the people were both helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place for couples or families.

Freshies is a nice, cozy restaurant with great service. There are many GF menu options to choose from, however, the fish n chips entree and flourless dark chocolate brownie cake were exceptional!

I trust Trip advisor a lot this is the one time it let me down. I have yet to find the best place to eat at South Lake Tahoe and I have eaten at many places there. The food is always overpriced and nothing ever spectacular but we keep our hopes and keep trying to find a good spot. Freshies has top ratings on trip advisor plus it advertises as island food. I was really looking forward to it. The vibe inside is island style but the menu wasn’t really. I wanted island flavor so I ordered the tropical chicken. It was a thick chicken breast breaded , topped with melted cheese, salsa and avocado. The chicken was so thick and bland. The breading was hard and crunchy. So the flavors didn’t blend. The avocado and salsa slid right down while I worked through the breaded chicken. So you taste avocado, then salsa, then dry chicken. Towards the end of the meal I came across the cheese. My son had the ribs. He loves ribs but all he had was two. I tried it ,took a bite and I couldn’t take another. It was over sauced and the sauce was super sweet. The third dish was the most surprising. We ordered steak teriyaki stir fry and when it arrived it looked like teriyaki soup. It was unreal. The positives to the establishment is that they were friendly and service was timely. I’m not sure if the ice cream shop next door is part of this business since it’s called Aloha ice cream. Same island vibe not island flavors or island type desserts .For just scooped ice cream you’ll be waiting at the minimum five minutes after ordering. We went for ice cream there three times and the shortest amount of time we waited for our scooped ice cream was 5 minutes, the most was almost 15 minutes.

This food is so amazing. I am not a vegan like my wife—while this vegan food is so filling, tasty, and so well prepared. Outstanding service and food so well presented—this food could be served in a venue anywhere. The fact this amazing place is here in South Lake Tahoe is something you don’t want to miss. The place is super casual, I look forward to exploding on to the best street corners! And the music—perfect.

This restaurant is under new management. The food was good, bit at the time of our trip, they did not have a liquor license.

Overall enjoyed the experience at Freshies and found the menu to cover many different selections to meet everyone's wants, including vegan. We ordered the Island Plate which allows to to select from several different proteins and the manner in which you wanted the meal prepared, i.e. Blackened, Cajun, Teriyaki, etc. Also went with the Good Old Fall Off the Bone Ribs. Enjoyed the smoked flavor and the slight char for on the ribs from grilling. The Hawaiian BBQ sauce was very good and the only downfall is that the ribs were on the tough side and not fall off the bone. Would definitely go there again. Restaurant is located inside a small strip mall, but don't let the surrounding steer you away for the food and staff are great.

My wife and I ate here 3 times during our stay. Due to COVID19, they offered take-out only, but they were very friendly. We took our meals across the street down to the beach to eat. Recommend the veggie burger and the Folsom Philly.

Enticing menu with lots of veggies in all the dishes. Coconut limeade was excellent. Busy little spot and the staff work very hard. Each table has a tablecloth, cloth napkins and each one has a different novelty ceramic pair of salt and pepper pots. Would definitely return
