The food was good enough but had to beg for customer service my server said it’s off season and that’s why she kept disappearing. I saw plenty of staff leaning and playing with their phones and then going back to work without washing their hands “phones are dirty personal property known for germs” just overall poor performance for the front of the house staff, I wouldn’t hang my experience in the kitchen as my server would’ve brought my food out when it was finished I would’ve enjoyed it a lot more hot but cold fish is never appetizing 2 star for the appearance of a restaurant
Very nice lake-side restaurant. Try to get seating outside if the weather is good.The server Tim was quite friendly and hospitable.I ordered the calamari and it was great. Very different from all other calamari plates. It was wonderfully crispy and the calamari was a good texture.You get to see the geese and ducks hanging on the lake shore. Some might even come up to you with open mouths.
Way too expensive! $21 for a burger, no cheese. Quality of a McDonald’s burger. So sad, we’ve been coming to Tahoe for 50 years and The Beacon was a favorite spot but it sure has changed over the years. Sad to say we will not be coming back.
Mediocre food, crowded and noisy, even outside. There is a $12 parking fee and the restaurant is definitely not worth. Many prettier views of the Lake elsewhere. Nice waitstaff.
Overall: Nice place for a lunch (and dinner) on the deck looking out at the beach/lake. Food: Looks like their menu has changed and prices are up since the pandemic. Carne Asada street tacos were tasty but would have been nice with a side of beans and/or rice (for the $20+ costs). Fish and Chips served a healthy amount of both and were also tasty. The Mahi fish sandwich – fish was cooked nice but was bland…fixed it be adding tarter sauce. The Sausage and Shrimp nachos were unusual (not a common combo) but the report was they were delicious. Drink: Bloody Mary was just right around of spicy, thickness, and alcohol. Atmosphere: the deck is crowded with tables…but not too crowded. Get here early if you want a decent spot (or a spot at all). We arrived at 11:30 and was packed by noon. Price: All the dishes hovered around $20. Gauging from pricing I found online from previous menus it looks like the pandemic took its toll here as well.
This place was amazing. Away from the crowds at the Heavenly Village area, and right on the shore of the lake! They have a spacious deck with outdoor seating, a few firepits in the bar only area and direct access to the beach. Awesome 360 view. Saw some geese with their younglings which was super neat.Had some of the best calamari ever there too. Crispy batter on the outside and meaty on the inside. The 1lb portion was more that enough to get the 2 of us full and paired with a good draft wonderfully. Definitely coming back to this place. It can get chilly and windy so dress accordingly if you plan to sit outside.
Got to visit on a quiet day, which is rare. The Food, the wine, and the service was incredible!!!The views....no words...this is a must!!
Delicious burger and a solid location you can’t beat! We were heading back to South Lake Tahoe from Emerald Bay and happened upon this gem of an eatery. Ate inside since it was a bit chilly out but the patio area views were amazing.
Stopped by for lunch and was lucky enough to grab a firepit table on the deck. The view was absolutely beautiful, the Playlist was a great mix of great songs that just added to our enjoyment of the whole setting. I really enjoyed the Valhalla and my husband had a great amber lager. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection. Hubby had the california turkey sandwich which was also good. The portions are very generous here. We were looking forward to the garlic fries but the garlic was just kind of slapped on top. Hopefully they'll toss them in the future to spread the garlic around. All in all though was a great experience dining here. Will definitely be back.
Support small local businesses! What a awesome place right on the lake. Great food, calamari is THE best, and of course their signature drink Rum Runner is incredible. Summer time features live small bands for a great fun atmosphere.
