This winery is so great that my boyfriend who’s from Germany decided to become a member. It’s our favorite go-to spot. So beautiful, relaxing and friendly staff. You sometimes feel intimidated going to Wine Country wineries but here you feel welcome. The tastings are fun, staff educates you and obviously great, fresh wine! We enjoy the fresh charcuterie board too. Plenty of parking, fun that main winery is down a beaten path so it feels private and the outdoor seating is simply awesome with a view. We did a walk-up, no reservation and rather than turning us away they welcomed us in a friendly manner on a pretty busy Sunday afternoon and after that we became members. Smart marketing and customer service not to turn walk-ups away! Will enjoy our future experiences at Roche.
Beautiful rustic setting, nestled in among vineyards and dairy farms. Off the beaten path but worth it for the Pinot Noirs and friendly service.
Closest Pleasant & Good Quality Winery near San Francisco. Roche is our “go to” for a pleasant and close winery. The grounds are fantastic. Wind in this area is blocked by their shaded patio. Staff members are always pleasant and never snooty as is the case everywhere in Napa and increasingly Sonoma. Wines are great with many easy drinking options and some sweet take home bottles that are a hit with my mom. Range includes a great unoaked Chardonnay, interesting blends, and sophisticated Pinots. You will arrive and depart here with a smile on your face unless you are too grumpy for wine tasting in general.
chill atmosphere, not snobby or obnoxious. service was great. comfortable seating! doggies allowed! some of our group opted for the tasting menu, some opted for a solo glass. they had one wine that tasted like bananas! very neat!
Down to earth setting, casual and relaxing allowing for a great place to sit, enjoy wine and have a conversation. The Merlot is by far my favorite. As it has plenty of character, and an amazing finish.
Would not recommend this winery if you’re a sweet wine drinker. But I have to rate them 5 times because the customer service was amazing! Jean is hilarious! And it’s a very welcoming environment! The wines that I tasted here are not my typical go to wine, but they were tasty!
