The waitress took a very long time to take our order. Forgot to ask me how the steak should be cooked and it came out undercooked (rare). They took the steak off the bill but overall the food was not great. Not a great ambiance either.

It took a very long time for a waiter to come to us. We had a 7:45 reservation and didn't get our meals till 9.

We had an exceptional dining experience at Layla. We sat on the patio and it was lovely! I think it's the most lovely outdoor dining venue in the city of Sonoma. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the charcuterie to share as a starter - wonderful veggies and dip and stunning presentation. Lamb chops were the best I've had in ages!

Layla offers a lovely setting and was at one time our favorite local place. The valet service at the front door is welcome since parking can be an issue. But this time (some of) our food was simply put ... no good. Examples: spaghetti that was undercooked and covered in a too salty to eat sauce, gnocchi that was pasty and undercooked (sent back), double lamb chop that was very tough and strong tasting. An asparagus soup with lavender was different and a spaghetti special was good, though the serving was small (less than a cup).

This is one of the best restaurants in Sonoma County. The food is wonderful, the service excellent and if you eat outside it is peaceful and lovely. It is excellent for special occasions, for a friends’ get together, or a business meeting. I have been there a couple of times and definitely will be returning.

We love the quiet, elegant atmosphere. Great salads, friendly staff. Thank you!

Food was delicious and the outdoor setting was lovely. Staff was pleasant but not friendly. Also I had to ask 5 times for honey for my tea.

A great experience all round. Good cocktails to start, interesting appetizers (the smoked carrots were really good) the gnocchi was ok but I’ve had better. Service was good on a perfect evening for eating outside.

Super expensive and small portions

Our waiter was pretentious and non-engaging with our table of 5 women. He expressed wonder that I ordered a bottle of wine for myself. The sea bass and mahi were thin overcooked filets. The ragu was the best entree by far. The ambiance is fun and beautiful - wishing our experience with good and service could have matched the lovely surroundings.
