Dinner at Palermo Italian - SIMI… First visit since the new owners took over. Pros: - Excellent shaded patio with Dodgers game on - Generous wine and beer pour - Large portion sizes - Pizza so hot even after I finished my pasta it was still hot and fresh - Staff super friendly - Good value We ordered the dinner for 2 which came with Side Salad (each get your own), Pasta with meat sauce (each get your own), Garlic Bread, Cheese Pizza (they called it a personal, I’d call it a small). We also ordered an appetizer hot wings and dessert to go of tiramisu and cheesecake with raspberry drizzle (haven’t eaten dessert as of this posting). Easily would feed 3, maybe even 4. Total bill was $88.91 with 2 beers, 1 wine, appetizer, dinner special, and two desserts. I liked the salad, garlic bread, and pasta over Chi Chi’s. I preferred their pizza in the past (was buttery), but this pizza was super hot and tasty. I prefer chi chi’s pizza. The wings were the fried chicken kind and they were hot and cooked perfectly (I prefer the crispy not KFC kind). Overall everything was fresh and hot and tasted wonderful. Solid 8/10…I’d rank Chi Chis exactly the same so on par if you like it there. The new owner was sweet and I truly hope they succeed. Give them a try if it’s been a while. I like it overall better than before! Cons: - flour/cornmeal under pizza was plentiful so had to brush it off. - beer/wine only not a full bar but I think that’s the same at most local Italian venues

A great family restaurant always good food
The food was excellent, as always. This was our first visit since the covid problem hit and we we quite happy with the excellent service.
Incredibly nice people now own this legendary place. They are actively involved in trying to restore it to the way it was before a previous owner disrupted its repute! Quality virtually the same. Ask for the old-timer to toss your crust if you are interested in receiving the traditional pie that you can relate to -- and those in the know will understand what I mean!
