Maryjo is the best waitress. She alwaysRemembers us when we walk in the door. She is always full of energy. The food is the best.
I am a fan of this chain , having eaten at the Ventura and LA location, but my experience here left something to be desired. The food was good with lots flavour. The waitress and employees were very nice and accommodating. But the chef got our food wrong and other customers as well. The sad part was that the portions were less than what I get at the other black bear locations. Same price for a lot less food. So we were bummed. I would like to go back and give it a chance at some point and if the experience changes I will update this review. If you love Simi come check it out but if you can, go to the Ventura location
The atmosphere is great. The quality of the wonderful. And, my children love Goji get there.
$54 for two breakfasts (one small omelet with a side of veggies, and 3 pancakes, 2 sausages, 1 bacon, 2 eggs) is frankly too much. Especially when the wait time was 20+ minutes to get our food. The atmosphere is good, and menu selection is decent as well. But chances are well pass on breakfast here as there are too many other choices with better value in the area.
My family and I really enjoy eating at this location. The decor gives off Big Bear vibes. If you get a chance, read the cute phrases on the bar chairs. The breakfast sweet cream pancakes are delicious and something my Daughter loves. I usually always order a burger with a side salad. I'm a big fan of their bacon ranch dressing. The biscuits are great and it's always hard to resist getting a small pie at check out. This restaurant is pretty pricey and the service is spotty. Sometimes there is a wait for someone to seat you even though there are a ton of empty tables. I think it's just an issue with not enough staff.
Always have liked The Black Bear Diner. I was a little let down, as your food was not as good as all of my other experiences with your restaurant. Please check out this one and make sure it is as good as you always has been before. The first Black Bear I ate in was in Redding California. Your service and quality has always been one of my favorite places to eat. Hoping you will bring your quality and service back to your previous quality. I wish you and your company the best in the future.
I ordered take out. Fried chicken was my favorite at Black Bear Diner. I was very disappointed with the quality of the fried chicken. It was very dry. Pieces that were unrecognizable. I paid $58.61 for horrible food. It was take out. Fried chicken is not offered on the menu. However if you ask politely they will accommodate your tastes. Or maybe you should not!
Wow! My husband and I were impressed by the food, clean bathrooms and service.I got the parmesan burger and he got the beef dip. Delicious food all cooked perfectly and savory. The sandwich toppings all went together seamlessly. We will definitely come back here again. We got a cold brew coffee and a blackberry cobbler to go!
Food undercooked. I came yesterday expecting a really nice bite to eat, but was disappointed. Pancakes are amazing, berry lemonade amazing, but every thing else was either under cooked or not made properly. My order came with eggs and sausage. Unfortunately, the eggs were not the portion that was on the menu and they were slimy which meant they were not fully done. The sausage was like mush when you bit into it and it was pink. I would have made a complaint, but I had already sent back my country potatoes that were undercooked. I don't know who cooked yesterday, but they did terrible. I never gave the impression I was in a rush to the server so the food should not have been rushed. I wanted to enjoy a nice meal after come home from campus instead I wasted 35 bucks on food that wasn't cooked. I ended up taking the potatoes home with me and refried them so they were completely finished. Lastly, the cobbler needs some work. It was 5% crust and the rest berry. Cobbler should be an even portion of both crust and filling. No hard feelings just improve.
Went to the one in San Jose my first time and I'm happy to say that the Simi location is equally good. Comfort food at it's best.
