Elegant, sophisticated, lovely dinner spot. It’s charming and elevated yet casual enough to relax and unwind. I ordered a virgin Mojito and it was unbelievably good. My friend next to me had a custom drink made for her from the bartender and it was such a pretty drink and really yummy too!I came with a party of six and we all ordered A bunch of dishes to try different things! And we also ordered dessert at the end which was phenomenal. Highly recommend going. I was there for a dinner meeting but next time I’ll definitely go to one closer to me and Monrovia.

This restaurant was so good! We had a reservation on a Friday night and were seated right away. We asked twice to change tables and the hostesses/servers were really nice about it. We were sat at a much better table! Our server was great, super friendly, very personable and accommodating! The food runners were great as they brought out our foods and everyone wished us happy anniversary! It was sweet of them to remember and celebrate it! Some restaurants don't even acknowledge it, so it was nice they did! It is family style so you do have to order a few different foods, but we liked it! We had just enough! The drinks were good as well! Thank you to our server Nate, he was sweet!!

Service is perfect. Unbeatable, literally didn't have to ask for a thing! The drinks are very tasty, inventive and mix both LA cultural homage with avant garde pan-asian tastes like serrano, lychee and others. Highly recommend the Yuzu margarita and Ventura heat. They also have a very strong wine list.Food was, of course, incredible. Highly recommend Wagyu Gyoza, short rib, red snapper sashimi, pork belly fried rice and cookie & ice cream. Wagyu Gyoza was rich, tender flavorful yet perfectly balanced with the vinegar sauce. Red Snapper sashimi rivals the Nobu Yellowtail sashimi. The short ribs were intoxicating - light garlic, sesame and other Asian flavors marinated in these tiny tendrils of goodness. The entire dish of the PBFR, was delicious - it wasn't just a pork-centric dish - everything about it flowed together from the egg, to the kurobota to the green onion and some other type of Japanese spice I detected but couldn't name.Phenomenal place and (partially) BIPOC owned!

Incredible! The vibe, the atmosphere, the food, the service, A+.You must go!Do not miss.

While the service was a bit spotty, the food was delectable. My personal favorite being the crispy, melt-in-your-mouth brussel sprouts appetizer. I can have it daily and not get tired of it. Though the petite plate sizes and elevated prices make you wonder if you're in the valley version of the esteemed Nobu (sans Malibu shoreline), but not quite there yet in quality, is a mighty good over-the- Mulholland-hills option for its ease in getting seated. Overall, one of my new chic Saturday date night spots.

Staff was great. Service was excellent. Cool vibes, good music but the food itself was so overpriced and not very tasty. The fish for sushi however was very fresh. Did not like the Specialty Marg nor Mojito but the Old fashioned was alright.Get the Brussels sprouts and the Otoro nigiri. Short ribs were alright.Skip the cucumbers, oysters, crab sushi roll.Popcorn chicken and crispy tuna rice were disappointing. No crunch. Weighed down by oil and thick batter.

Love the different fish dishes, lots of different cocktails and small dishes to share with your friends. Great atmosphere. Come a bit early so you can get a chance to enjoy.

Wow! What a great sushi experience! Food and drink were EXCELLENT and the service... top notch! Celebrated our sons birthday and they brought out a candle sparkler and the most delicious cake with berries we've ever had! Met one of the owners who couldn't be nicer. Will definitely be coming back!

Really wanted to love it as it is close by and great location. Walking in, the ambiance is great, the restaurant is large and spacious, good decor. The hostess' we're polite at greeting. The issue was the food! Really small , super thin pieces of sushi. Flavors were not there for any of our party of 4. Basics like crispy Tuna was a mouthful of crispy and like zero tuna!? None of us were impressed and for $350 total, I would expect some dish to be delicious, twas not. Will not be going back.

I recently visited Taisho on the recommendation of a fellow foodie with very high standards in the sushi department. It did not disappoint.I want to commend the leadership on their superb culinary execution, its not the most affordable place to dine in the area, but its worth every last penny. Think of it as that special place you frequent when you have something to celebrate. We tried way more than we probably should have and it was all amazing, but things that stood out: Sea Bass skewers (melted in your mouth like butter), Truffle Salmon Roll (excellent contrast in tastes), Crispy rice tuna appetizer (it was so good we ordered it twice). You really cant go wrong, every round they brought out was better than the previous, cant wait to go back.
