Delicious vegan restaurant! The Loaded fries are a must! Delicious with any protein. Tried all of the protein Tacos, my favorite were the steak and chicken. The fish Tacos were pretty good as well. The burritos and quesadillas are pretty filling and good. Their cocktails and margaritas are really well made! Would definitely recommend to try one. They have one of the best lemonade I have tried, definitely take some to go! Price isn't too bad for a vegan place. Will definitely come here again.

Great for the entire family! One of the few places that has vegan kids meals! Our kids ordered The quesadilla and the bean and cheese burrito. We also got the guacamole for them. The kids loved the food. We ordered the half order of nachos with the jackfruit carnitas and they were a hit too. They weren't too spicy for our kids which was great. My husband and I ordered the three taco plate and the burrito. We tried all three vegan meat options for the tacos and my favorite was the pollo. My husband's favorite was the carne asada. But we liked the carnitas on the nachos too.We also ordered the agua fresca hibiscus flavor. That was a hit all the way around. Not too sweet. And we finished our visit with the churro donuts which were amazing! They have a small play area for the kids which is nice. And the restrooms are artfully painted and clean. We loved how colorful the decor was and appreciated that there was so much seating for our large family of five.We visited for the first time on Mother's Day. We arrived a little bit before they opened at 12:00. And it was hard to find parking. Metered parking on the street was full. I read in another review that you could park behind the restaurant but we didn't see anything. So we went to the neighborhood across Ventura boulevard and found some parking on Noble Ave. There is also a public parking that is paid that I have a picture for as well. We will definitely be back!

Easily the best vegan Mexican place we've ever been to.First off, everything is vegan - which means LOTS of delicious options. They use soybean, jackfruit and other things to give the consistency of meat without ever harming an animal life.Second, the decor. My god! What an amazing interior designer. Everything is open concept, with vibrant colors, plenty of space. It just makes you feel alive and part of our amazing earth. If you want to get a taste of everything, try this order -- 1 of the 3-taco plate (each with a different fake-"meat", and 1 of the half-quesadilla with another fake-"meat" of your choice. Promise you won't be disappointed. The lemonade though was meh.. but we got to keep the glass bottle, which was cool.Overall just an amazing experience. Can't wait to go back. Definitely one of our favorites.

I've been meaning to come to this place for a while and I think seeing THAT show on Netflix really sealed the deal for me to go. The ambiance is really nice, there are a lot of colors and the string lights were really pretty. I ordered a vegan carne asada burrito with lemonade and a side order of birria tacos. The lemonade was refreshing and had that sour taste that people look for in lemonade. You could tell that the carne asada burrito was meat imitation but it was still pretty good overall and the flavors weren't too strong. The birria tacos were delectable and the dipping sauce that's used for it was also delicious that I took it home. Now I don't know if it was just me or the food (it was the food) but after 20 minutes of sitting and eating, my stomach started bubbling. When I say it was bubbling it was BUBBLING. I proceeded to get up and go to the restroom and the doors were locked so I had to wait. After someone left the restroom I went in and the ambience was interesting in the restroom. The paintings on the wall were really nice but it reminded me of the back rooms. The lighting inside was pretty dim, so you can't take mirror selfies in there. I spent a pretty long time in the bathroom just letting everything out, and I KNEW it was the burrito based off the aftermath. I've never experienced anything like that before but I will say it was a pretty unforgettable time. Also I like that they have a hand dryer in the bathroom, and the soap that they use is so good because it's cherry blossom scented. I couldn't read what the brand was because it was wiped off and it looked like they were crust stains on it, but I would totally buy that soap if someone told me what it was. Also the toilet paper was pretty thin so next time I'll just bring my own.Overall I enjoyed my experience and will definitely come back. Not for the burrito though.

The food is good, not great. But the service leaves much to be desired.Tonight, employees were standing around on their phones instead of cleaning the outdoor tables, which were all dirty, despite the restaurant being empty. My food came out luke warm and ten minutes before my husband's did. Why? And the in-house hot sauce I was brought a huge side of was insanely hot and did not come with a disclaimer. In the past, when we have come for takeout, we have waited around forever, so we decided to come for a sit-down experience tonight. Not sure which was preferable. This place needs much better management. In the restaurant's defense, the food is definitely passable and the pricing is fair for vegan fare.

I tried Sugar Taco for the first time and went with my mom (I'm vegan, she's vegetarian). We both LOVED everything we ordered. Tacos were amazing, burrito was amazing, and the quesadilla was sooo good. The cheese in the quesadilla is made from chickpeas and it's so unique, delicious and surprisingly rich and creamy. Highly recommend! The churro donut is a must try. And the vegan horchata is heavenly. I didn't want to finish it; I've never been so heartbroken over an empty glass before. We'll definitely be back and soon!

First time here. This place is Vegan and heaven for me! We tried the Carne Asada Loaded Fries (you can pick from Pollo-Soy Bean, Carnitas-jack fruit or Carne Asada-Seitan)Loaded fries are excellent! So meaty flavored and I added guacamole, why not?Definitely a Mexican Vibe and I would really enjoy sitting outside enjoying a margarita or sangria.TIP: Parking in back behind building or metered street parking. All gender bathroomsTry the churro donut.. very popular.Reasonable prices most food items are under $10. Donut is $4. Alcoholic beverages are $8-$11

Sugar Taco is art work inside and out. They have really taken some time to make a visual eating experience. Right from the entrance to the outside patio. Look at the layout of the fresh flavored water and the numbers for the table. Look at the attention that they have put into creating an atmosphere of art. The walls, chairs, patio, staff and delicious vegan tacos are what makes Sugar Taco. Extra points for a kid’s area with plenty of toys to go with it. Nice touch! Attention to detail is key. Look at the bathroom. Art work on the wall. It was even signed by the artist that made it. Attention to detail!Gaby and Jordan helped me out picking some of the sides and water. Compliments on them. They were welcoming and friendly.I had a three-chicken taco plate with black bean and rice. Accompanied with Agua de Jamaica that is translated to Hibiscus water. To finish I had a churro donut. This if my first experience trying vegan chicken tacos. They are great! I could not tell the difference. They had queso and guacamole on them. They tortilla was flavorful and perfectly cooked. It was done well enough to have for and solid outside and soft inside. This is a very difficult balance to have with tortillas for tacos. The vegan chicken was really good. I don’t know how they did it but they did. Great tasting vegan chicken tacos. The Agua de Jamaica or hibiscus water was spot on. Not too sweet and not to tart. Right in the middle and full of flavor. Look at the setup for presentation of the water. It is like an art installation. Perfect Agua de Jamaica! The churro donut was a new experience for me. This is the metaphor for Sugar Taco. Take a traditional dish and make it their own with an artistic flare. Yes, a churro donut. Not too sweet and full of churro flavor. I really liked this place.Sugar Taco took a lot of time to prepare and experience that translates into making wonder tasting artistic food. I highly recommend Sugar Taco.

This place has hands down THE BEST vegan Mexican food I’ve ever had! It’s a staple for me every time I pass through LA and now with more than 1 location I have twice the convenience. :) Looking forward to booking their food truck for my events once they complete it.

Sugar Taco is a vegan (plant-based), nut-free eatery, with gluten-free options. And, if that's not enough, it's owned by three smart, talented, caring woman. They staffed their two Los Angeles cafes with friendly, knowledgeable employees, who guide you, or those with special dietary requirements, through the menu. The Suger Taco's decor is modern Mexican: colorful, and comfortable. Several menus, are displayed above the reception/order desk. To the left of the cash wrap is a small gift display with several Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) items.Normally, on my first visit to a restaurant, I ask the waiter for suggestions. "What's good? What's popular?" Since there are no waiters I asked Gabby, the hostess. She asked, "How hungry are you?" I was hungry. Gabby suggested a couple of tacos and the nachos plate.I ordered my meal take-out. Tonight is a "Prime" video night.Although the two tacos appeared small, they were generously filled with an excellent house-made vegan cheese, analog beef, and veggies. Honestly, this would have made a pretty good dinner. The serving of nachos came loaded with soy meat and cheese, black beans, and a spicy salsa topped with guacamole. I was able to devour about half and saved the rest for a later meal. I found Sugar Taco's food to be richly flavored and well presented. There is seating inside and on a trellis enclosed patio. If you're dinning in the restaurant your meal is delivered. For the server to recognize you, a numbered card is presented when ordering. Just place it on your table. This is an ethical, vegan restaurant. No animal products are used or served. Take-out containers and utensils are compostable. The dinning room is decorated with food cans recycled as flower pots. There's a hand sanitizer at the front door. The house-made vegan cheese on my nachos, melted well, is stringy, and delicious. Sugar Taco makes three cheese varieties. Their meat analogues include soy, wheat, and jackfruit. The beans are properly prepared, a little on the firm side. The guacamole is whipped. The resulting textures and tastes are pleasurable.Everything is wheelchair accessible. Metered street parking is available on Ventura Boulevard. Be careful, this is a very busy street.
