Not a lot of great choices for pizza in the valley but we were so happy after trying this place when they opened a few years ago! Their pizza is delicious, reasonably priced, and everyone there is so friendly. We live right around the corner, too, so it's our go to spot for pizza night. Bonus points that they put the pizza back in the oven for a few minutes to warm it up if you're a little late to picking it up so it's always hot and fresh.
THIS.. Is the best pizza in LA. Hands down. I'm from Boston and I love me some pizza. I'd go to the North End and grab a slice of pizza on the regular. It's one of the things I missed when I moved to LA... UNTIL I FOUND The Pizza Wagon! This is the real deal slice of pizza life right here. I mean, get the whole pizza, get 5. But if you want a slice or two, it's just the best!
This pizza is absolutely delicious! I couldn't even take a picture 'cause we ate it so fast! Best pizza in LA! And the staff is super friendly!
I discovered this place only last week and have eaten here 3 times already. I. Am. OBSESSED. The NY Style Cheese Pizza is everything a NY girl could have asked for and its been something I have been looking for since I moved to California years ago. The only other comparable place is in West Hills. I am stoked to know I live super close to Pizza Wagon of Brooklyn and I will certainly be continuing to order here for my pizza!
Nothing wrong with the service or anything, I thought it was just a noticeably mediocre pizza, and I'm not very picky. The main pizza tasted and looked like they threw a good amount of cheddar or something in with the rest of the cheese, which is a super weird flavor profile, especially if you don't advertise the basic pizza as "4-cheese pizza". Nothing special about the sauce, below-average crust and bread. No herbs or interesting seasoning that I could see or taste in any of the pizza, which is what brings a "meh" pizza down to a "Oh. No thank you," pizza.I also got a calzone, which was slightly better, but the ingredients were each in massive pockets and hadn't been mixed whatsoever, meaning one bite was 99% ricotta and the next was biting your way through a stack of six pieces of pepperoni that they hadn't bothered to separate.
Grew up in Brooklyn, was super excited to try this place. Looks like pie that’s been sitting out for 10 hours like Penn station style. That wasn’t even it for me, it’s the size of the slices. You pretty much get half a slice for the price of one. It tasted ok, but I’m not going back. I really hope they revamp their situation, cause it was looking grim.
Don’t walk, run to Pizza Wagon. Their pizza is tasty, the dough is flakey and chewy and the hospitality and warmth from the team is top notch. It’s worth the drive from Venice.
1st time visit, off a recommendation. It was excellent.Just got a couple different slices to try it out.Loved them both!Crust was perfect!
I grew up eating Pizza Wagon on the streets of Brooklyn for 30 years—then I moved to LA, becoming depressed & being void of the great slices NYC so readily offered. Imagine my joy when I found out Anthony brought the real deal Pizza Wagon here! What a privilege to have him, bringing the best NYC-style slice in the whole city, right here in Sherman Oaks! If you’re looking to be transported to a breezy summer day standing on a curb in NYC just for a minute—all you have to do is take one bite of this pie. I am convinced that any poor review of this place were either 1) not interested in the freshness of this pizza, and ate it wrong by waiting for it to get soggy, OR 2) not used to the bonafide FUHGEDDABOUDIT Brooklyn vibes that this place offers—seeing your delicious pie hand tossed by a fast-talking, no-funny-biz Brooklynite. But if you’re interested in a true NYC slice, made & trusted by true NYC natives—then Pizza Wagon is the place for you!
Excellent NY style pizza with friendly staff. Have been more than 20 times, consistently awesome, as someone from NY/NJ, I can say it tastes like home. My go to shop in LA.
