My three-star review is not meant to disparage this restaurant. The food is solid, the counter service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are fine. The atmosphere is also pleasant. I rate The Garden, which I've been to more than once, at the upper end of average, which is not bad. I just reserve four and five stars for truly superior, outstanding establishments. By all means, for a pleasant, satisfying, affirdable, but unexceptional dining experience, head right on over to The Garden. I will certainly be back.
Food was not bad. Service needs improvement. Restaurant as a whole I would not go to again. If I have to stand in line to order my food you don't get to charge me 18% tip automatically. If you want to charge $7.00 for oj I expect it not to be a small plastic bottle of Tropicana.
I have been there once and I was overcharged extra 50$. A member of staff said that she needs to repeat the transaction without giving me any proof of cancellation… she just said it didn’t go through and she needs to do it again… I payed for my dinner twice plus for my friend’s dinner and also he payed again for his…I’ve contacted the place giving them my bank statement and all the details including the exact time of the transaction… The response that I’m getting from them since May is ‘ we are trying to find your transaction’ then eventually they have asked me again for my card details 2 weeks ago and I didn’t get any email, not mentioning my money.Still waiting… and feeling ignored.I would say be careful when you go there…or simply avoid. Not worth it.
Lovely little place a block off Ventura Blvd, offering both inside & outside seating in the garden under blooming bougainvillea. We were in the mood for some serious protein after traveling from the East Coast, and the Garden’s burgers & fries sounded great. And they were-GREAT.You order up front and then go find a table to wait for your order to be served. I’m gluten free, and had my burger w/ all the fixings, but no bun. Just as well cuz my sweet potato fries seriously rocked, & I devoured every last one. The wait staff was helpful & very nice. It was a pleasant & delicious meal. Burgers, fries, & 2 sodas came to $48 before tip. Big bucks for burgers, but hey- they’re LA burgers baby.?
Wow. Beautiful restaurant, clean, and some of the most outstanding food I’ve ever had. The service was friendly and fast. I love the concept of paying in advance and not having to worry about waiting for the check at the end. I can’t wait until the next time I’m in town to visit!
Ok, here's the problem I have, and I don't want it to sound like I'm being cheap; I have zero issue paying good money for good food. This wasn't that. The food was pretty good, but nothing amazing. Here's my problem...1 grilled cheese sandwich, 1 order of fries and a side of grilled vegetables with 2 glasses of cheap wine was 85 bucks. And we got to sit on a ratty old picnic table to boot. Screw that. Not coming back. Again, decent food, but that was a complete and total rip off.
Love the ambiance. Patio is amazing to come hang and bring our dog and get small bites with a glass of wine.Only gripe, and it's a big one though, is that they give you STYROFOAM boxes for your to go food! I mean who gives out toxic material boxes to put your got food in now? For this place to be so thought out and "nature themed" you guys should be more eco and customer friendly and get paper boxes.
Very nice sandwiches. Good bar selection too. This place is always busy and tables are at a premium at times, but that is to be expected at lunch hour. Great neighborhood restaurant where you order at a walk up and they bring your food to you.
@winstonwoofs gives this place 2 paws up and 10/10 awoos.also if i could buy the potato salad by the bucket i would. let me know if something can be arranged...but in all real talk this is one of the best places I've been to in LA so far.
Amazing dog friendly outdoor patio. But that's the most attraction. The food is plain and mediocre to the best. The drinks are meh. Don't expect much and go for a good hangout.
