This place was great!!!!I ended up at Seal Beach one evening, and turns out I got hungry. Weird!Anyways, I wanted something unique and fresh. Hello, Walt's Wharf! My server was great and knowledgeable, able to inform me that the fish I ordered was caught local and recently delivered. For appetizer, I chose the Pacific Ahi Sashimi, which was fantastic.Afterwards, I went for the Oak Grilled Mahi Mahi from the Grill. And let me just tell you..... It was splendid!!!!I recommend you check out Seal Beach for the laid back vibes, and don't leave without filling up at Walt's Wharf!!!
The ladies at the front counter, where you put your name down upon arrival, to wait for a table... 1 of the young ladies was a bit rude. She was too busy chatting and not listening when I tried to give her my cell #. But our server was very attentive. The food was excellent. So...
Walt’s Wharf is a landmark in downtown Seal Beach. The seafood is top notch. The building was built in 1920 and has kept its cozy and relaxing feel. The crab legs are our favorite. All of the seafood is cooked perfectly and you can taste the freshness. The Walt’s salad was ahead of its time. It’s very healthy with nuts and fruit. The dressing is good too.The appetizers are delicious too. We love the coconut crusted shrimp, stone crab cakes, jumbo shrimp cocktail, ahi sashimi and moreIt’s named after the founder, Walt, who was a dentist who want Ed to create a seafood restaurant locally. He used to bring the fish in on his boat. Walt’s Wharf also has great wine from their own vineyard - definitely a great entrepreneur family! The mix of the delicious fresh food and the cozy, fun feeling is perfect for enjoying a drink or meal with friends and family.Enjoy every bite and let’s keep supporting this local jewel.
I had not been here for several years and I forgot how delicious the food is at this place. Amazing fresh seafood, the service was great, ambience was great. Highly recommend.
It’s tough to do Monday Birthday dinner. I love this restaurant and their food. I’ve been coming here for years. It was disappointing when they changed the menu and there was no more salad or soup that came with the main course on top of already high prices for main dishes.I notified the waiter that it was my husband’s birthday. You would think he would care at least a bit to make it somewhat special. We ordered the artichokes, never received the bread. For main course my husband ordered lobster tails $50 and asked to substitute mashed potatoes for pea sprouts. I specified that he loves pea sprouts , we only wanted to substitute mashed potatoes. I Repeated pea sprouts and asparagus pleaseSo he got the Brussels sprouts instead. Not the same!!!We mentioned that it wasn’t right supposed to be asparagus and pea sprouts. The waiter brought asparagus nothing mentioned about the pea sprouts.Lobster tails were pretty small and not very specialWe got the bill, no candle or not even a tiny scoop of ice creamLike it was some regular boring dinner. It was very disappointing
Food was okay, piece of grilled fish half the size of a credit card, two bites and it was done!! Filled the plate with veggies and rice to make it look like there was more than what there was!! Service was probably the worst my wife and I have ever had at a restaurant!! She spent more time at other tables, talking and hugging, than she did at our table!! Never checked with us once to see if we needed anything!! Another beer or fill up of ice tea would have been nice!! Drove from Corona to enjoy a special evening, she ruined it!!
This place was bomb! Total surprise as we stopped on our way home from the beach. We had the steamed clams and oak grilled seafood platter to share. Loved every bite! Our waitress, savannah, was awesome! She was a great server and had great recommendations. Will definitely come back! Thank you!
Table was ready upon arrival. Service was excellent, food was delicious. Desert was an extra bonus.

Amazing experience, food, and it's only a block from the pier.Very friendly and accommodating staff. We dine outdoors since we had our pup with us.I ordered the pasta Pescatore, and my significant other ordered Macadamia Halibut. The food was absolutely delicious. We both cleaned our plate .The Pescatore cause was perfect. Did not have a fish taste. The noodles were thick, which was a fantastic choice for this dish. The chunks of fish, and cherry tomatoes paired amazing. The sourdough bread pairs great with the sauce. The macadamia fish was cooked perfectly. Skin was even tasty. It sits on top of brown rice, and a mango tasting puree of sorts. Everything tasting so delicious when all together.
