The view by the windows is great! Our waiter was very attentive and they brought a cute little slice of cheesecake with a candle at the end for my birthday. The lobster roll was tasty, although there was more bread than lobster. The clam chowder was good but not sure if worth the price. The Ocean Breeze Margarita was very strong. Definitely pricey but a very nice experience for a once a year celebration.
Okay so this is my review of this place.1. Service 6/10 ( the waitress came three times to tells us they didn't have the wine we wanted. Also, she was so afraid that we couldn't pay that she pass my credit card 3 times and it got block. I told her to wait until I get my fraud alert text so I can accept. Had to pay cash 800$)2. Decoration 8/10 it a nice place with a lovely view of Santa Monica pier.3. Food 6/10 (am sorry but for 800$ super for 4 people I was expecting way better. The meat on my plate had to much fat the lobster was way to small for a 95$ plate. The lobster pliers for the lobster don't work very good. The only thing good was the drinks. The presentation is nice)4. Cleanest 9/10 the restroom was clean and didn't smell bad, the floor was also clean.5. Ambience 5/10 (okay so this place is not so friendly, I went to more expensive places and it was way better. It feels like everyone is looking at everything without a smile.Look at picture
We came here for my birthday week at night. It was quiet and we had a nice view of the Ferris wheel. We had a New England clam chowder, a black chitarra pasta, a steamed main lobster, and a fish (but I can’t remember what it was). We asked them to bring the entrée out one at a time so we could enjoy but for some reasons everything we’re out at once. We had the lobster first and then the pasta and then the fish. The lobster and the pasta were delicious, but the fish was cold as we left it for the end. The service were good. The waiter came over to check up on us and refilled water. At the end, they had a nice birthday cake for me as well. It was a good birthday night for me.
Located steps off of the Santa Monica Pier, The Lobster provides a fancier dinner than the other restaurants located directly on the pier with great views up the beach. I was looking for a lighter dinner having ordered calamari and crab cakes, but I had a little craving and got the tasty lobster fried rice and couldn't complain about being full.
A true gimmicky tourist trap! My food arrived cold and the lobster roll is ALL ROLL with a bit of lobster for garnish. Zero value for $35. Also, forget ordering for pick-up it’s against their policy. Management is too incompetent to charge a credit card over the phone. The clam chowder was actually pretty good - shocker at $22 for a cup. All in all the food is mediocre at best - you are better off at Red or Ocean Meat across the street.
We always eat in the bar where the staff is incredible. The view from our table, outstanding. The food? Well, let's just say we ate there 3 times on our last visit. YUM!!!!!
We did not eat here, as we found it after we ate, but the inside is absolutely beautiful and the giant windows give you a view of the water and mountains and the perfect sunset view, we would come here next time we are in the area and have mortgaged our house to pay for dinner.
We were there for lunch this afternoon and had to wait outside for 15 minutes because the table wasn't free yet. When we arrived upstairs, the restaurant was almost empty. The restaurant is not suitable for families with babies because there is no diaper changing facility and the buggy cannot be taken along. We ordered appetizers and an entree for 3 people when we asked about the menu we got the bill of $172 and went hungry to Del Fresko's and got our entree and dessert there where my son could take in the buggy and there is also a winding possibility. Too bad never again. I'm in LA 3 times a year and that was the first time it was that bad
Only thing great about this place is the view. Unprofessional service. Food was mediocre and overpriced. I've been in the service industry over 20 years and never in my life was it ok to present a check to your guest and hover over them and ask them how much do you want to tip me!!!
I can't even believe they ran out of Lobster Mac and Cheese on Friday and we were there for dinner Saturday night. They also had no bread or Gumbo. What kind of crappy service is that? How about making note of that when you seat customers instead of telling them as they place their order. Not returning.
