Always a great time
Prices have gone through the roof.
The Galley is an "interesting" place with questionable decor. However, it is the oldest restaurant in Santa Monica. So somewhat nostalgic, is what we were told. My wife and I came here for drinks and appetizers before going elsewhere for dinner, it was our anniversary. Service was pleasant and we sat on the back patio. The patio was situated along a tree line and our table was next to a particular tree with very large spider webs at eye level. Their drink list looked interesting, so we thought we'd go with the house made cocktails. They were all mix and no cocktail, and made of 55% of our $110.00 tab. We ordered one appetizer and a burger to share. We ordered the burger MR, it came out completely well done. Not the start of a great night in the way of food & beverage. Our dinner, which was a beautiful Italian restaurant in the city (LA), was ridiculously more inexpensive. An appetizer, 2 entrees and a very special bottle of wine we brought was less than $70.
Awful service and incompetent staff at the door!
Not as good as last time we were there. entrees were expensive. Signature salad did not seem fresh.
Great old-fashioned restaurant with a wonderful selection of dishes.
Patio was perfect for an early evening dinner. Shrimp Caesar was delicious as was the striped bass dinner. We will return soon.
This is our "go to" for seafood. The lobster tail was huge this eve and the panko crusted halibut was small so they complemented each other perfectly! lol The Steamers were a little tough but big on size and flavor. A MaiTai made without pineapple is like a BloodyMary without a celery stick! :-) We will be back to the "Galley".....
Birthday dinner with excellent service despite a big party, thank you for the servers patience!
First time there, it was great! Atmosphere was great! Food delicious! I will definitely go back and bring friend and family!
