This place is a usual hit for me. But when we walked in they were playing Lincoln park style music? Not a great fit for a cocktail bar. Waitress was unfriendly and spent most of the night flirting with the bartender then spilled our drinks upon delivering them to the table? And then to top it off bouncer asked how our experience was, we said the music seemed off and his response was dismissive. Maybe an off night. But definitely not the chestnut club we remember.
vibe is cool. someone came around to us as we were sitting (after sitting there for 30 min) that we needed to order a min $250 to keep sitting there. mind you, there was 4 open tables next to us? it seemed a bit odd you would say that to a customer - we had already had one round of drinks and were going to order another, but the minimum seemed a bit crazy so we left. i suggest you only say this to guests when the place is actually packed full.
First off The Chestnut Club is an amazing place. A live DJ and dancing after 9pm. Great music and even better staff. The servers are great and a really special shout-out to the GM who made us feel right at home took care of us and was a lot of fun. The whole staff there was just very friendly and super positive. Great drink menu and really good service and pricing. This is our go to spot!!!
Truly one of the worst bars I’ve ever been to. My friends called ahead and asked if dogs are allowed the bar said yes. I walked all the way to the bar with my service dog who was so excited to see my friends she was definitely jumping here and there as dogs do when they haven’t seen someone in a long time. The manager said my dog was clearly not a service dog based on her energy which is completely false…I have her for my depression. He said they don’t support “anxiety dogs” which my mouth basically dropped at….anxiety and depression are two separate things. There were 4 ppl in the bar…this place is a complete joke. Don’t go here- cocktails suck as well.
Super cool atmosphere. The manager/(GM?) Was super nice and made sure everyone was having a good time. The drinks were great!

Great little bar. Well designed. Great service! Very accommodating. Great whiskey list. Plenty of other options for those who aren't into whiskey.
Came here when Parallel Attractions was DJing and it was a fun night. Bartenders are quick and professional. Nice atmosphere. Didn't have any food cause the kitchen was closed but might come back here to check it out.
Beautiful atmosphere and really good cocktails. Around 15$ each. The music and lightning is really chill. Parking only valet parking for 10$. I‘d recommend street parking.
Best underground bar in Santa Monica! And also the cool lady bartender so glad I came here tonight!
