Excellent excellent excellent! This is the best sushi I’ve had in Los Angeles and by far the best experience at a sushi restaurant. Chef Masa and his crew made it feel as if I were in Japan. This is a spot for genuine sushi lovers. What a treat!!
Absolutely LOVE this place! High quality sushi and very detail oriented. We've dined at a plethora of other sushi spots but Soko is hands down one of best, top notch traditional sushi restaurants on the west side. Highly reccomend, you will not be disappointed.
My wife and I saved the best for last on our trip to Santa Monica. Excellent fish, great cocktails and a gracious staff. Chef Masa is clearly a master of his craft, and kind as well (we had a lovely chat with him at the end of our meal). We will definitely be back next time we’re in town. Highly recommended.
Not a great experience. It is a small place that only seats a few people inside, so to expand capacity they placed a communal table in the hallway lobby of the hotel, right next to the door. If you book a table here, double make sure it is not at the communal table outside of the restaurant. The entire meal hotel guests, some extra loud and drunk, we’re slamming open the lobby door next to us. The food was pretty decent, but that was impossible to pay attention to and enjoy given the environment.
I am not a big sushi fan, but the delicious meal I had at Soko made me a believer. The chef was very gracious to accommodate our last minute request- I did not reserve ahead. The fish melted in my mouth with indescribable delicious taste, there was no need for any sauces or additional flavor- it's like time stopped and I was caught in Sushi ecstasy. There is a moment when the fish melts in your mouth and suddenly you get what Sushi really is ; I would make the trip to Santa Monica once more- just to have this again; this is sushi to the next level; I highly recommend it.
Wow! Our meal at Soko was so wonderful! The fish is incredibly fresh and expertly prepared. All of the dishes were beautiful and, most importantly, delicious. Antonia was so gracious and knowledgeable and the sushi chefs were very kind. It was so fun to sit at the bar and watch their talents. I look forward to returning and highly recommend if you are looking for excellent quality sushi.
Masa pop up at Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica, Chu-toro and yellowtail were our favorites! Akihiko is Amazing, We highly recommend !
