We were thoroughly disappointed on our visit, even though we had enjoyed the quality in the past. The restaurant was not busy, so it was incomprehensible that our server evidently forgot to pass along one of our orders, a main course. After we brought it to her attention, it was not delivered until a full 20 minutes after my partner’s main course had arrived, and after 2 requests for the missing dish. The Gyoza were at room temperature and it seemed that they had been made too far in advance, and definitely not freshly fried. The Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll was average at best. The best part of the meal was the delicious Papaya Salad. One of our mains was Broccoli Oyster Sauce with Chicken; it had little taste and a non-descript, very bland sauce. The Tom Yum Shrimps Fried Rice was much better and enjoyed by my partner. The server apologized at each of our criticisms, but there was no effort to rectify (a new order of freshly fried Gyoza would have been a minimal offering). We won’t be going back any time soon.
We ordered several Sushi plates, Gyoza Poke Bowl, Spicy Seeweed Salat and Mango Sticky Rice. Everything was delicious.
Huge fan! It's a locals destination. But it's happy hour all day Tuesday with a bunch of decent half off specials (most importantly to me is half off sake/brews). That's two for one in my universe.Pound sake eat some sushi ?Sushi specials too hopefully that's in another review.
Sushi was good, saki was good, Chicken Kara-age was ok, but there was only 1 healthy option (which was good), and I wish there was more. Not too much of a fan of the app system they use rather then the traditional menus, which I'm sure it has its Pros, because it definitely has its Cons.
Rize is in Santa Monica and not very large, so don't miss it. Parking is on the street and there is a lot of parking. Mind the signs. The service at Rize is wonderful. We love the cooks, sometimes we can see them outside through the window and my grandson gets so excited when one waves to him. The servers are super and know their menu well. They can tell you what is going to be spicy even though you might think it would not be and if you ask for something super spicy, well you asked. Rize does not tend to get too crowded and if there is a wait it is not long. I do not know if they take reservations. Their sushi is great, all of it. We love the shrimp and spicy tuna rolls. Their Thai food is just fantastic. We love all their noodle dishes and they have a great duck roll. They also have some good salads and anything with nuts we order. Just yum. You will love this place so have a great time. They also have a great Happy Hour.
Small place but the food was great. Tons of crab in the Crab Fried Rice. Also really enjoyed the Maine Lobster roll and the Truffle Albacore. Ordering from the phone was easy and they delivered to the table very quickly.
Good sushi, not dry. Was my first time there and I will be back !!

I got the veg gyoza and it tasted like nothing if I’m being honest, the baked salmon was good, next time I would try something new, has outdoor sitting and a nice vibe in the inside.
