This is real Indian food. Finally, after 15 years of living in the US, I found a good curry spot. Rita is great. The only negative is that the restaurant has no restrooms. Which is a bit weird.
The service was friendly but incredibly slow. If you blindfolded me and asked me to describe my chicken dish, I could not even have guessed it was chicken tandoori. It was tasteless chicken, and it did not appear to come out. a tandoori oven. The garlic nan did not have a hint of garlic and was bland. The raita was just so-so. My wife's Chicken Tikki masala was runny, and it was tasteless except for being very hot. The worst I have ever tasted. My chai finally arrived luke warm. I left half my meal behind, and so did my wife. It was a total waste of $68. We love Indian food and eat at an Indian restaurant at least once weekly. I've been to India several times, and I love Indian food. To add insult to injury, both bathrooms were out of order. No wonder the place was nearly empty on a Saturday night.
The food here is INCREDIBLE. Beautifully seasoned, complex, packed with flavor - the kind of food that makes you never want to put your fork down. It may take a bit to get your food as the owner, Rita, runs the entire place on her own. It is well worth the wait. I can’t wait to come back.Highlights include: the samosas (huge, crisp, packed with delicious meat) and the chefs special curry (flavorful, spicy in just the right amount, a great combination of salty, tangy, spicy, sweet a truly beautiful to eat)
I would say the best fresh indian food I had so far. The food was very delicious, it was worth the wait. The owner Rita was really nice. I would give 10 out of 10 for food and service. Would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant.
PHENOMENAL taste. Passion in the food. Chef came out to speak to us personally to ask about our experience. Spoke to us about the ingredients and was very knowledgeable about cooking. Top tier restaurant. Amazing for meat eaters and vegetarians alike.
5 stars!! The food is absolutely delicious, service is great and a really clean and pretty environment! Definitely worth it and I always have enough food for leftovers! Would recommend :)
I was struggling to get Indian food since 1week in US and I got Rita's Gate of India in LA. Awesome taste of the food. Though I reached late with my friends , the restaurant time was over but Rita was generous to offer us dinner during that time. Must visit place if you are looking for Authentic Indian food in LA.

super bad service the lady who works here and is old told me that I had to pay before my meal super angry even a little crazy scared me later she had a problem with the other lady, I recommend never coming to this place also does not have brown rice . very bad very bad
