seaweed salad and gyoza were great to start! the ambiance feels moderately dedicated towards japanese culture which is always a plus. they may have been understaffed when I came, but service was a bit weak. The ramen entree left a bit more to be desired flavor-wise, but I do really appreciate the vibe in the establishment. I would come again!

Went here on a Wednesday night for dinner and really wanted to like the place but wasn’t impressed. I got the Garnet (miso sauce) and my partner got the Quartz vegan (creamy sauce). Each bowl cost $16 which seems expensive and was by no means a larger than normal size. And adding an egg was $3.50 which seems excessive. Service was also quite slow (20 mins to get food), but the 1 waiter and 1 cook were doing all they could to serve the 6+ groups present. Get them some help! The food was alright but nothing to write home about. Probably won’t come back, unless they hire additional staff.

So, I got one spicy garnet ramen and one spicy miso ramen (can't remember what they were called) along with the kids menu pearl ramen and although the customer service was great, the food wasn't. The broth was oily and the noodles had a rough texture to it as well as the after taste. I spent $70 and from what we got, I don't think it's worth it :/

Good stuff. They're seriously understaffed. Let's go support them so they can hire more cooks and servers. Food is good but not really a place for people who don't eat pork.

I'm currently enduring an extremely frustrating experience attempting to get takeout. First I tried to order online but noticed that even for takeout, menu items are marked up by 40% on the ordering platforms, so I just figured I'd call so I wouldn't be ripped off. However the person who picked up the phone just put it down and left me to listen to the sounds of the restaurant for 10 minutes while I drove there and just ended up placing my order in person. Now I'm waiting 45 minutes and counting for two ramens which seems absurdly slow for a restaurant that serves only ramen. Clean up your act, Rakkan!

Beautiful place just to walk around and see and eat something

Phenomenal ramen! Imagine my surprise when I realized the 4 seat ramen shop I went to (twice in one trip!) in Tokyo opened up right here in Santa Monica. A deep, soulful shoyu (soy sauce base) ramen it is nevertheless light on the stomach and somehow, despite the depth of flavor, completely vegan!Shoyu is not a style we've seen proliferate here in California (plenty of "top" spots are Tonkotsu or even Tsukemen specialists) but this is the style that Tokyo is known for, but is hard to do "right". This is by far the best Shoyu I've had in the states. This is a gem right on the edge of the gem of Tongva park and all LA ramenheads and those looking for a flavorful and healthier bowl of noodle soup should run right over here.

Came here on my way to my normal favorite ramen spot and thought I'd try something new, did not disappoint, solid sake selection and ask for Sugi he'll treat you right and chat about Japan

Had a really unpleasant experience at this location. We’ve been to the one in Little Tokyo and loved it. We ordered to go and asked for a few extra items to be added - that were all extra charges. When we got home we realized we had not gotten any extra items and it felt like we had barely gotten the normal amount of vegetables in our ramen. We called the restaurant to inquire about this and they laughed at us, literally called us crazy, said they had never gotten an order wrong ever and that they do not believe us. I understand that restaurants deal with people making false claims these days, but they were extremely rude and had no interest in making this right.

Food is so so!! Place was understaffed at the time we went. Location great , but needs a little help in the kitchen
