Ordered to take out coffees 1x Latte and 1 x cappuccino - They charged us $15 ! We did not realise until we left cafe - not a good experience. Just sad to be honest.

This cafe/coffee shop has been on our bucket list for several years now. We missed it during our last visit before the pandemic. Since L.A. County had settled down with the virus, we decided to spend a California staycation in L.A. and Santa Monica. We made our reservations in advance to guarantee our visit. We were not disappointed. Actually, it's the perfect spot for a great breakfast and charming interior. It's been there for a while and the same owners run the more known and famous Capo Restaurant right next door. It's small, intimate, and right along the sidewalk.It's a short walk off the beach if you're staying nearby (which we were). It has a very nice selection of breakfast items so we had to be selective with our choices. I ordered their blueberry pancakes (huge and oh so good), along with side order of home fry potatoes (equally delicious). My wife ordered the egg white frittata. Of course, we also had their house coffee. Everything was fresh, ample portions, and so good. The prices were also quite reasonable. We definitely would return again and again. It's so cute and will remind you of a cantina for sure.
Great traditional Jewish deli. I had the hot corned beef on rye. It tasted exactly like a good deli corned beef sandwich should taste. I will definitely be back.
The Caprese Omelet was good and breakfast sandwich was huge. Would never order the potato again…0 for 2 on that one. Coffee was great, carry-out was efficient. Dine-in was extremely slow.
This would be perfectly lovely for a cheap dive, what with the plates and cups being chipped, the table dirty, the glasses a kind of cheap plastic, not being offered water, and wholy nonsensical food pairings (french toast with overcooked poached eggs and julienned cantaloupe anyone?). What's disorienting is their fancy place prices, which were odd enough that here I am...writing this dumdum review ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Really excellent breakfast in a very cute location, large outdoor patio. All ingredients were clearly high quality. It's pricey I suppose for breakfast but it's also extremely good. Very good service too, we'll be back to try their margaritas
I waited over an hour for my meal so it could be served cold. They served us the cold meal that they over looked for an hour. They tried to make it up to me, by giving me a discount. REALLY!!! How about a hot meal, instead!?! This place is wishing on a star if they think customers are not going to complain on social media, no discount in the world can stop us from telling the truth. The food was cold . I was excited to try their food, only to be deeply disappointed. They do have parking in the back of the restaurant but its very small, I think I remember 6 parking spaces. Street parking is hard to find because the restaurant is not far from the beach. No ocean views from the restaurant.
This is a cute little spot only about a block from the beach on a busy road. Despite that, they've managed to create a nice space that while outdoors (covid safe), is really cozy with pretty ambiance. The good : the staff are very friendly and the food is tasty. I had a homemade tortilla that was incredible. There is also a parking lot which is pretty rare in this area. The bad: slow service with perhaps overworked staff (eg took a few asks and a lot of time to get a glass of water) and very steep prices for what you get. $10 for an orange juice (!!) and a teensy cappuccino (almost espresso cup sized) for 6.50. At breakfast some things don't come with sides ($16 pancakes are literally just a few pancakes). No kids menu but there are kid friendly options. If you are by the beach and want to find a quiet spot nearby with great Mexican food and you don't mind the price, this is a good choice.
