Cha Cha Chicken is local, fresh, affordable, and delicious. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat walking distance from Santa Monica Beach and the Pier, check out Cha Cha Chicken. They are a semi indoor restaurant, with plenty of seating on two covered patios. I was there by myself, but everything on the menu looked amazing, and I wanted to try it all. I ordered the 1/2 Cha Cha Chicken, mixed, served with plantains, dirty rice & beans; a carne asada empanada; and the awesome chicken croquettes, served with a mildly spicy red sauce. The chicken was fall off the bone tender, the jerk sauce was perfection mixed with the rice & beans. My only regret is that I only have one stomach, next time I will try their highly recommended enchiladas, ropa vieja, or chicken tortilla soup. The weekend only brunch menu also had so many things I would love to try. The staff was very friendly, and the service was fast and efficient. Parking is limited, there is no lot, and limited metered parking. Walk from your beach parking if you can. Thank you Cha Cha Chicken, see you next time!
I ordered a chicken croquette and the coconut fried chicken (1/4) with fried plantains and spicy cuban fries for my sides. The chicken croquette was great! Definitely worth trying. The jerk and mango dipping sauces were unique and amazing! I wanted to try some unique foods while visiting LA, and the dipping sauces fulfilled this criteria. Personally, I loved the mango sauce, but if you're a meat lover, you will love the jerk sauce more. The fried chicken was tender, and the coating was crisp but lacked coconut flavor - you would really have to focus and not put any dipping sauces on to taste a hint of coconut. Fried plantains were as expected. Spicy Cuban fries were not particularly spicy, but well, they're deep fried potato wedges.
This has to be our go to spot in Santa Monica. No trip is complete without the pineapple coconut lemonade and the jerk wings! When it’s just the 2 of us, we grab that and head down to the beach to picnic. When we have our daughter with us, she loves to eat in the restaurant since she loves the staff and to people watch. The owner is super sweet along with all the rest of the staff. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu so go, have fun & EAT IT ALL!
Went here 5 years ago and it was still as good as last time.So nice to have plantain on a dish!I would recommend all of the specials.Perfect for a date night. Chilled vibes.
I love love LOVE this colorful restaurant right next to the beach. You'll never get a picture of my food because I devour it as soon as they drop it off ? I almost always get the same thing and then also taste whatever else my family gets-it's always the best!! Coconut chicken (all white meat) w extra mango sauce (omg w that sauce!), pineapple Coconut lemonade, and flan or banana pudding...maybe sometimes its both ? everything comes w rice, beans, and plantains...so sooooo good. Prices are alright and the service is always amazing ? there's often a line to order, but they're quick and it's def worth any wait time!! And you can always call ahead to order before you get there. Bring your own drinks (wine? Tequila?) and sit outside enjoying the beach life while tou get fat and happy. Oh, and their little pink robot that delivers food is so cute to see roll off down the street.
First time coming to Cha Cha Chicken, and it’s okay. It was nothing spectacular. My brother and I ordered one plate because it was quite pricey. For the Coconut Fried Chicken with fries and fried plantains on the aside and a Diet Coke and Mango Guava drink, the total came out as $28. We had high hopes that the chicken would have a strong coconut taste, but you could not taste it. It’s quite literally just fried chicken. The mango sauce though was delicious! As well as the Mango Guava. I just think there are other better places in Santa Monica to eat at, but if you have the money, I guess it won’t hurt to try the food. I will add that the interior design was pretty. I loved how colorful the tables and chairs are!
I had a great experience at Cha Cha Chicken. I got the chicken caesar salad and the chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I had friends get the salmon special, the cha Cha Chicken, and tostada's they all looked amazing and they agreed I don't think you can go wrong when you come here everything's going to be amazing. I recommend checking it out and I'll definitely be back.
Underwhelmed and I’ve been here several tines. Everything is kinds blah with no real effort. It’s close to my job so I try to patronize the locals but this is a horrible attempt at Caribbean food. Service is slow and not the friendliest. Try somewhere on the pier
Happened to come upon Cha Cha just a short walk from Loews Santa Monica and glad I did. Very very casual but fun. You place your order at a window and then find a table. There are two areas to sit in. The service great. Genuinely friendly, helpful, competent staff. Attitude appreciated. Ordered the Spinach Quesadilla with chicken. Really delicious with sauces to go with it. No alcohol but I overheard you can bring your own. Might want to double check. Reasonable price and enjoyed it.
Do not come here for authentic Caribbean food. I’m not saying what I got was bad but it definitely wasn’t a real jerk sauce. We got enchiladas, empanadas, and jerk chicken. They were all super sweet vs. savory. This is good for when your options are low.
