Best milkshake I have had in a long time! Thick and delicious! Very friendly staff. They have odd hours, which are not marked on the service window. The lady working said they are open on the weekends in the winter, but I checked on a Sunday at noon and they were not open yet. Very fair prices!
Friendly staff. Great prices. Absolute devine flavor combinations. It's like a portal back in time in price and taste. Bring the whole gang down and have an ice cream or soda pop float of your choice. You will not be disappointed.
Soda jerks is located at the very start of the Santa Monica Pier in the historic building with the carousel. I tried to stop in several times during a lengthy visit to the area (like directly after dinner) but found they were closed on all but one attempt. Essentially, it seems when the carousel is open they are too. There is a small counter with a few seats inside the very large open space with the carousel or you can take your treat outside. My sundae came in a small cardboard boat so it was a bit tricky to handle so I perched at the counter.The ice cream was fine and it was a different experience. Check it out if you happen to find it open and are in the mood for a treat.
They are old school and you can tell. It is a old style soda fountain. Everything looked amazing. The Root beer was the best I ever had, they hand pump it with syrup and soda water. Tummy! The strawberry shake was with real strawberries and mixed in an original Hamilton Beach mixer. You will be amazed on how much better it tastes then most places these days.
