Been going to several Cabo locations for years but no more after our recent experience. We always loved their Margheritas, chips and guac but things have changed. The chips tasted like thick cardboard and the guac tasted like it came from a can. The Margheritas were weak and uninspiring. The service was slow/non-existent. But the worst part was the price. The tiny tray of chips and tiny cup of guac were $10 and two drinks were another $40. What a waste of an evening.
HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE !!! A sunny afternoon and a beautiful walk down the promenade and we wanted to sit outside with our 6 month old baby and they turned us away. It wasn’t JUST that they turned us away but the WAY in which they turned us away was so beyond rude that I will NEVER dine here again. Zero stars. We were with a small group of people wanting to get a burrito, a drink and sit in the sun after work. After the horrible experience with the door man we all just left and went our separate ways. They broke up our party and our fun- oh and I looked it up- the only reason they can legally turn us away is for fear of underage drinking which of course is absurd when we’re talking about an infant. This place used to be a great place to meet and take friends and drink and guess what- now it’s the place I will tell everyone to avoid. When you’re in the service business and you serve up an experience like that, guess what- you usually go out of business.
Your typical Bar fare served on paper plates but less. More like food from an old style movie ? with leftover cheese. Service was slow and unfriendly. Drink selection looked good but served in plastic cups. Several patrons were loud after a few to many on a Sunday afternoon. For the price you can do much better in almost any direction around downtown or walk over to the boardwalk for the view. Can't think of any reason to go back except maybe pet friendly outdoor seating.
Went to get some drinks after work. We decided to sit outside and it was nice. The staff was really nice and friendly. The drinks were also very good. If I wasn’t going to drink home I would have asked for them a bit stronger. I had the regular margarita and the mango margarita. There were so yummy! It was also happy hour so we were able to get two drinks for the price of one. Me and my group decided to order some nachos and they were really good too! It was 3 of us in total and we finished the nachos. The nachos we got had carne asada and jalapeños.I had a really good time and the environment was really nice too!
The steak fajitas were really good. The nachos were ok, but it's a huge plate. The drinks were strong and definitely worth it during happy hour.
One of my first places to eat here in Santa Monica and it was amazing! The vibe was chill yet up beat. The staff was relaxed and fun loving! The drinks could be a little stronger but 2 for 1 at happy hour wasn’t too bad of a deal! I had fish tacos and they were the biggest ones I have seen in a long time! 2 actually did me well! They also looked amazing coming out which is important for me! I will be back to this spot!!!
Ordered the barrio burrito with chicken. Tasty and decent size. Came with side of chips and salsa.
1/5 stars because you have to put something in order to write a review. We went there for their happy hour to get margaritas. What we got was basically limeade in a small plastic cup with no salt on the rim. This must have been a pre-made margarita mix and I am not convinced it had any alcohol in it whatsoever. Their happy hour was 2/1 drinks but at $15 a drink, I am disappointed greatly in what we received. If we had to pay full price, I would’ve been even more upset. Atmosphere was nice but service was lacking. If you want a bottled beer this place will probably be alright, as far as mixed drinks go~ steer clear of this place.
Good food with generous portions. Good service as well :)
We went there for their taco Tuesday during happy hours. It was absolutely adequate.Santa Monica offers limited free parking nearby so that made is easy to visit the place. The service was good. Everyone was friendly. You must order a drink as part of the all-yoy-can-eat taco Tuesday for $799. So ordering a beer is good value since you get 2 for the price of 1.The taco selections are Carne asada, chicken, ground beef, and vegetarian. We tried all of them except the vegetarian one, we don't like zucchini! All were acceptable. They have a lot more shredded cabbage than meat. The first order included rice and Beans with chips. The rice e was okay but the beans were completely tasteless.Yes, you can eat as many tacos as you want but I still want tasty food an this was just not quite there. We wer glad to have tried it but will search for some place else for our next taco Tuesday. I gave it a 3-star because the parking was free and the servers were friendly, not because of the food.
