Our waitress was fantastic. Chicken fried steak with white gravy was great.
The Santa Maria Cracker Barrel location is always a mandatory stop when we drive through SM. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent! We have a CB near where I live but the eating experience is never as good as the Santa Maria location.
I'm sad that this restaurant wasn't a first choice for our breakfast because it should've been! We had a large group on a Sunday, and a few places we tried had more than 1 hour or 90 minute wait. We called Cracker Barrel and they said 15 mins wait. We were seated pretty quickly, and our server came around to take drink orders while we checked out the menu. He did let us know that their portions can be a bit larger sometimes.My partner and I ordered Granny's Sampler and an extra side of Gravy and Biscuits. It was too much and we definitely couldn't finish everything but darn it was really tasty. Whichever brand of syrup they use for their pancakes and french toast is the perfect amount of maple and sweetness combination.My friends all enjoyed their food as well. We didn't have any issues and the timings for everything seemed on point.
The food was delicious and well prepared. I had French Toast, Bacon and Eggs. My eggs were scrambled and not runny. My bacon was crispy just as I requested. And my French Toast was perfect. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our waitress asked if we needed dishes cleared and refills on drinks in a timely manner. My only regret was that I didn't have a budget or much time for the gift shop.

Cute little store on one side of the building which connects to the restaurant which was decorated with country styled things. It was all good for the price, but not mind blowing. Got the fried chicken, Mac and cheese, and turnip greens which was all good. We also got the French toast which was decent. Ended it with the fudge chocolate cake, came out fairly warm and was good! Not bakery quality but good for Cracker Barrel
Had not been here before, but I will return again when we are in the area. Cute store and Excellent Pot roast dinner!!! I love my coffee and the server kept my cup full. My Grandsons loved the decorations and found a perfect gift for both Grandsons. We left full and the boys happy with their gifts. Great place to visit again.

4 stars because we had an awesome server and the people at the souvenir/store were very welcoming and funny to be around!We came for breakfast as my dad in law was being surprised by her sister driving here from up north.I had an "Old Timer's Favourite" and it was meh for me. I had scrambled eggs and I was disappointed as it was a folded scrambled eggs. It was also dry and not seasoned well.It came with sausage patties which I found dry and salty. I wasn't expecting it to be dry as if it was like jerky. It might as well be a jerky!The saving grace would be the hash brown casserole, which was cooked with cheese, and spices.My spouse had French toast. The pieces were brioche style big, but sourdough. The sourdough was a little off-putting at first. The sourdough flavour does tamp down the sweetness of French toast. The complaint about this dish was the slight dryness of the pieces. It is served with a individual bottle of their homemade syrup, which had a great taste.On the plus side they carry sugar free syrup for customers with diabetes!!!I also ordered their huckleberry tea. It was very sweet I would prefer to add some lemon in it as I do like tart than sweet.That is just my preference.All in all we most likely won't be back at least not for breakfast. We may try other meals for lunch and dinner.
