From out of town. My Wife is a Local and talked how she loved this place. So we went to it. I give it a strong 3 Stars. Food was ok. Service not to bad. But our Server did t stay on top of our drinks and never came back to see if we wanted refills. Other then that, I suppose it was ok.
Have had lunch and breakfast here so many times, it's tough to decide what is the best thing to get. Personally, I love the Eggs Benedict with potatoes, but anything crepe-related here (obviously) is a sure win. Don't forget the hot sauce!Wonderful drinks, too!
Wife and I came here for a late lunch and we realized that we hadn't come here in like 10 years! They have such a charming area inside but the rear outdoor patio is just amazing! We got drinks and the ultimate bloody mary is like a meal itself. It was awesome. We split the Cinnamon Apple crepe and the Santa Cruz Benedict. Both were delicious. Portions are large and can be shared! Potatoes are perfectly cooked and seasoned too. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next day with our kids. Great place all around! Might have a new favorite breakfast spot!
Wonderful place. Got seated right away on a Sunday morning. Nice music. Great food.
Outdoor patio, pet-friendly and delicious crepes!
Dog friendly, stunning outdoor space. Nice brunch options on weekends. Staff is very sweet and service is very fast. Typically get eggs Benedict and a fruit+ Nutella crepe along with mimosas and hot chocolate (they do a great hot chocolate). The best brunch spot we've found in Santa Cruz.
I never write reviews but this place definitely deserves it! The crepe place is easily the best breakfast food I have ever had. We were skeptical because it looks like just a bar from the front but the back is completely outside/inside with plants and a little waterfall. Beautiful place and amazing food. Definitely recommend the Santa Cruz Benedict and the Fresh Fruit crepe!
Mixed feelings. The backyard garden dining area was wonderful. Service was top notch. Food was mediocre. Bread was dry and a little stale? They bake it fresh every other day, so maybe I got a day-old. Not many clams in the chowder. Smoked salmon crepe was fine. Their salmon comes from somewhere fancy, but my palette's too crude to appreciate it.. The fruit crepe with ice cream was spectacular!
This place is lovely! Don’t judge by the outside.. it looks like it’s just a bar in the entrance but they have this beautiful garden like seating in the back. The food is good. They serve these fresh cute little loaves with your meal. I imagine they make them there… and they have all kinds of savory and sweet crepes to choose from. Would recommend to friends!
In a land far from me and in time nearly forgotten, we were all painfully young and fresh upon the world. There were still hippies and love was still relatively free, and no one had ever really heard of crepes as a viable food stuff. We had a German friend who made them for us and I spit mine out the window when no one was looking. So when these folks opened up a crepe restaurant, people thought they were crazy. They arrived originally on Soquel near ocean on the ground floor in a big yellow duplex. There were two tiny store fronts on either side of the main staircase and I can’t remember what the other one housed, but the budding restauranteurs called their enterprise, The Other Side. We all just called it, the crepe place. I mean, it was the only place you could get them right? And it was tiny beyond belief, but we crammed in there with our friends and lovers and talked about the new age. That was literally a lifetime ago. And after various evolutions, it ended up in the current location. And I tell you they adopted funky like it was a beloved stepchild. It was also the first place any of us knew that actually had a decent outdoor eating area, it was shelter from the storm. And now I’m old and I tread the nostalgia trail like Moses back at the Nile checking out the reeds. And, literally, nothing has changed. You expect to look in the mirror and see a younger self giving yourself an incredulous stare. And the food is amazing, the gigantic Turkey Crepe with cranberry preserves is exactly the mouth celebration it was in my youth.I had been worried about a meeting the next day with a very special friend. Didn’t have a clue where to take them, and of course The Crepe Place was the perfect quintessential Santa Cruz place. Like a ship in a bottle frozen in time, only with great food and wonderful service. I felt like I had come home after many many years away, which is exactly what it was.
