Lovely, large restaurant inside, two areas of outside seating- staff is friendly and they hand a fresh pico and salsa bar!
One Main word, YUM! The food is always good, the service also. Great prices for the amount you get. It's not like that other taqueria where "super nachos" is friggin just loaded with beans and cheese. No! It's got salsa, your choice of meat, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream ? personally, one plate of nachos lasts me 3-4 meals/snacks. Highly recommend!
Okay. Now I remember why I stopped coming here.It's inconsistent.One time it'll be really good the next time it'll be really subpar.Had two tacos, one prawn and one fish.For example, today, my fish taco was cold even though he brought it straight to me.And the tortillas on both my tacos were really undercooked which meant that they got soggy really quickly because there's a lot of liquid involved in the fish tacos for some reason.The prawns were at least not overcooked, which is something that I find is a common happenstance at taquerias.What I don't understand is why both of them tasted exactly the same flavor-wise.I guess it's because they're using the same sauce?My husband's burrito wasn't good either.He was super bummed.Both of us have a lot of memories of hanging out at the beach and coming here to get food but over the years it's gotten really inconsistent and weird.Anyway, it was not good.
Awesome spot for a post surf meal or if you are a fan of consistently good mexican faire. I order a burrito everytime, but people who ate with me also enjoyed their orders; a lengua quesadilla, or carne asada tacos.
This is my bf’s favorite place. I prefer another taqueria but time and time I give this place a try and they always get my burrito wrong. Never put guac when I pay extra for it. And this time they didn’t even put the meat! I haven’t eating all day I’m hungry and all I got is beans and rice. Come on. Why do you hate me?!?!!!
Order the carne asada super nachos with the guac pico and sour cream on the side and thank me later. Best nachos in town.
The food was excellent. I love Taqueria Vallarta but I haven't had their food taste this good in a while. Usually don't visit this location but I guess I will be from now on.
I from San Diego where there are taco shops on every corner and 7 out of ten of them are worth mentioning. I have since been walking along the highway 1 for the last year, and out of maybe 25 taco shops only 2 made the cut for me. This was one of them. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! I had a grilled chicken super quesidilla which I will probably be dreaming about for the rest of my trip. The chicken was tender and moist and seasoned with what? IDK but it was fire! The prices blew my mind. Not even close to what other places around the area charge. I may have to double back to this place to try EVERYTHING! NOM NOM NOM!?
It’s pretty good. Price is right. I’d come here again. Gets a bit mobbed around dinner on the weekends, so be prepared for a line.
A Santa Cruz must. A go to for Surfers and Locals. Great food and Agua Frescas.
