Great taqueria! Reasonable prices, quick service, and delicious food made to order.

I never write reviews especially cuz I really wanted to like this place! I got veggie nachos, and my bf got a California burrito. We tried the salsa at the salsa bar and one of them tasted a bit sour like something wasn’t right, but I just avoided it and went about eating my food. However my nachos had the same somewhat expired taste, and my boyfriend agreed, so I respectfully asked if I could replace it with the same thing my bf got. The waiter got the owner for me and the owner was immediately extremely defensive, telling me that he makes it the same way every day and no one complains but me. At this point I had my bf handle it because I don’t like confrontation, and he continued to explain that “maybe she just doesn’t like it”. We made it clear we just wanted to replace it with the burrito, and he was only willing to switch it out for us when we paid the difference in price. As a business owner or chef, he should have been more understanding and less defensive. Something was definitely expired, and nothing he said was going to change that. I’ve never experienced anything like this and felt really overwhelmed that I ended up taking my food to go. It tasted better than the nachos, which is why I gave 2 stars.

Rice not that great but the beans were great definitely on point today. Fast service and employees were always on the move cooking, walking around cleaning or serving. Had the super quesadilla and it was super. Would go back and give them my money.

I was given the information to go to Taqueria Santa Cruz by a friend. It was a Saturday and Santa Cruz was beyond packed, bumper to bumper traffic. Word of advice, DON'T GO TO SANTA CRUZ ON THE WEEKEND. Frustrated that all the restaurants were an hour long wait, my friend suggested Taqueria Santa Cruz. It is just a short travel away from the beaches. I walked in with friends and was surprised to find it almost empty. We all walked up to the standing counter and placed our orders. The place is a bit beat up, bathroom walls are filled with graffiti. The food was so affordable and truly delightful. Each one of us commented on how wonderful our orders were. The small restaurant was packed by the time we left. The service was fast and helpful. I will most certainly be back.

Great fulfilling comfort food. Well made, very delicious and fatty. Fair pricing too and some very enticing and exotic options on the menu too (beef head and beef tongue and some interesting goat body part that I don't recall exactly)49ers super burrito was great and filling. I loved the salsa bar too!Make sure to supplement veggies somewhere else though!

Don't order to-go from here. Ordered through DoorDash 2 taco plates plus a side of rice and beans. When we went to pick the food up, they weren't busy at all. When we got home we realized they completely left out one of the taco plates from the order. Called to let them know and see if we could come back and get it (we live like 5 mins away) and we were put on hold. No biggie but the staff was impatient with us. When we told them what happened, that impatience was still there and we were told, before we could even really finish telling them what we'd ordered, that there was no plate like the type we ordered there even though we JUST ordered less than an hour ago and it must be from the other location. The unwillingness to even look or even ask a name for the order plus the fact that they had not even been busy when we ordered speaks to the lack of care this place has for their customers. It's a shame because the food is good, but this type of service is terrible.

I'm eating my burrito purchased from Santa Cruz taqueria in my car that's parked at taqueria parking lot. Then a worker from the restaurant approached me in my car knocking agressively, then falsely accused me of staying for 4 hours and threaten me to leave since he's gonna call the tow truck or the police! There's only two cars in the lot, not even full. This is ridiculous, my food is just halfway done, and I'm eating inside the car because of covid.

The food is delicious, some of the best in Santa Cruz. What’s not delicious is every single day I can order the same thing and it’s a different price depending on the cashier for just a simple burrito with cheese added. They need to get that together. Some days my burrito costs 9.50$. Some days 12$. Is that even legal??‍♂️

I've had the chorizo burrito and the shrimp cocktail and both were good. The price, quantity, and quality ratio here is good. It's reasonably priced and the food matches well with it. I've been here multiple times and it's been consistently good.

Local joint is conviniently located right off Hwy 1. Amazing great tasting food, fast and friendly service. Highly recommend!
