Fantastic service and food!
Loved Sugo. First time there. We have been looking for a replacement for Bella Roma for quite some time since Covid drove them out of business. Not quite Bella Roma, but very good and very similar dishes. Incredible bottle of wine. Great ceasar salad and home made dressing, Entree's were great. Cannoli and tiramisu great.
Authentic Italian food. Great ambiance, wonderful waiter.
Kind staff and delicious food, I love the customization element of the menu that assures everyone’s happiness :) Also the atmosphere is great and the patio in the back is super cute.
Peter our waiter was wonderful. He was knowledgable and gracious and very accomodating.
We have been to Sugo twice in the past week and had a wonderful experience each time. We were seated on their back patio which is charming and pet friendly. The service is excellent, the waiters are charming and the food is delicious. A wonderful addition to the Santa Cruz dining scene.

I would normally give 5 stars as we frequent Sugo. The food is usually delicious and consistent with excellent service. Last night it was very busy and service was meh. My motherâs pasta came out very dry and we politely let the waiter know. The waiter argued with us saying that itâs just an olive oil and garlic sauce. We told him that we understood that, but that there wasnât enough of it to coat the pasta. He continued to argue with us instead of just taking the dish and asking for more âsauceâ. When the pasta came back it seemed that they had just dumped a pile of OO on it. There were 6 of us in the party and half of us had dry, luke warm food. This is not normal for Sugo, so I am not sure if they were just too busy last night, not enough help and couldnât keep up. We have been bragging about this place to many in town prior to this experience. We will give another shot, and hope that the same amazing place awaits that we have experienced in prior visits.
The wait staff was very helpful with the menu and wine list. The service was timely but not pushy. We are looking forward to going back.
