Came to Santa Cruz for a company retreat and somehow to this quaint little restaurant that was definitely decorated by someone who is passionate about what they do. The music in the place was great. Sure the eating area is small but the food is big and the tastes are excellent.Hands down the best quesadilla I've ever had and great nachos. I'll definitely come back here next time I'm back in Santa Cruz.
Las Palmas Taco Bar is an inexpensive fast-casual Mexican restaurant located only a block or two from the start of the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Wharf. The store sign clearly mentions vegetarian and vegan options among the choices. We were pleased to find ample outdoor seating. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and was happy to know that the refried beans were vegan (not fried with animal fat). My wife ordered a couple of meat tacos with a side of beans and rice. We both found our meals delicious, and the staff was friendly and efficient. We will definitely return the next time we visit Santa Cruz.
Yukk is the only word is have for this.I tried super veggie burrito here and have a profound respect for chipotle after this.Couldn't finish most of it and had to throw away. It is just some mashed up stuff with lettuce in a tortilla wrap. Only thing i liked in that was lettuce and wrap. Literally disgusting burrito.
I like giving family owned businesses my business. Having said that, I regret coming here. The young man who took my order "forgot" to give my order to the cook. I guess he was too busy texting on his cell phone to care about paying customers. I waited as I watched customers who ordered after me getting their orders before me, so I asked the guy who took my order where my food was. No apology. Nothing. I was disappointed when I finally received my food.. It tasted straight from a can. Over rated and over priced, and too salty. I actually got a stomach ache from eating here. Not authentic at all and bad service. Tourist trap.....
I have been coming to this place for 4 years now but not frequently and the best thing about this place is they help you with the order very nicely and amazing interior decoration rich in traditional things. If you are in Santa Cruz and not going to Las Palmas, trust me you are missing out!
Tourist trap with ride ownership, ordered shredded beach tacos, salty and barely any filling. Many other options off the beach.
Menu states that there is gluten free items. The area is not gluten free and the guy helping me was not helpful. He even included that I shouldn’t eat out because I have celiac disease. Poor experience
This is good Mexican food. I had burritos, they were great. I would recommend for good fast fast food at a reasonable price.
This may be the worst Burrito I've had in Santa Cruz, especially considering the price. the tortilla was crusty and not even warmed, and there was barely any meat. The horchata, was watery and the asada tacos were excessively salty with little other flavor. I probably won't go back...
Had tacos at La Montana Restaurante y Taqueria .4 miles away the other day and it was so delicious I came here because this place had 3x the reviews and was extremely disappointed and feel like I wasted money especially on the chili Verde tacos, they were so Watery . P.s if you want beautiful tacos go to the other place and they were cheaper -_- I don't get how people say Las Palmas is the best when they haven't tried the tacos down the street. As you can see from the quality in the pictures
