We’ve been here twice now when visiting Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with the kids. Our treat to ourselves for a successful day treating the kids out for fun. Definitely some of the best fresh fish, the tools are delicious. I love that they don’t over sauce the tools and you can really taste the ingredients. Wonderful staff, very inviting and kind, great service. We’ll keep coming back.
Been here many times when I was younger and loved it. First time here in about seven years and sadly had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. When we sat down, a server came up while we were talking. My friend finished her sentence, and the server told her that she talks too much. He then proceeded to tell my husband that his wife talks too much. When my husband corrected him, he said “well, your girlfriend then.” Then he said your wife and girlfriend talk too much. Then I tried to order a beer and he told me I look 18 and left without checking my ID; I’m 27.Another server came and was much more helpful, but after ordering at 8:50, the food didn’t start arriving until 9:40. Finally when my deep fried California roll came out, it was incredibly fishy and if had such a small amount of avocado that it looked more like a straight crab roll.I work at a restaurant, and I know everywhere is short staffed, but this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had and honestly it bums me out to see a once great restaurant has become this.
Definitely love coming here been coming here since a little bit during my high school year . Actually an adult so glad that it's still around everything on the menu is delicious from sushi rolls to the Bulls to the sake ice cream everything.
Myself (Native Westside Santa Cruz Local girl Makes Good) and my Bestie (Hot Child in da city) had a great experience, Sushi super fresh, top notch service with a smile and a greeting from the owner was the best part. WE LOVE I Love Sushi! ,??☮️?
The food there was great. You can see the chefs making the rolls in front of you(if you are at the table right in front of the chefs). I love the tucked away areas that they have too. Great service and they are on their toes making sure their clients are happy. I'll be sure to be by again. No complaints here
This was the best Sushi hands-down.The service was off the charts, we didn't wait for anything. We tried a few new things and I had the sashimi combo, highly recommend!!!
The Hamachi kama was good but for some reason all the sushi we ordered was really dry. Disappointing overall.
Spicy sushi roll was ok but the waiter was not knowledgeable about anything I asked him about the menu or sake. I asked him what brand of sake they served, and he didn't know and didn't offer to find out. He responded that he thought they were all about the same. Turns out it is boxed sake and it goes through a dispenser to heat it up. They did not have any sushi chefs, just basic Dennys cooks. Tempura was under cooked and they fried what looked like cantaloupe. Weirdest thing ever!! Server never checked to see if food was ok and I had to have someone else get our check. Overall they would get a 4 out of 10. Definitely would not return!
Jenny Love roll and california roll were good: the Jenny Roll was pretty good value since there was a nice layer of food on top of the rolls.
Sushi was pretty good but the chicken teriyaki was kinda sad. Probably should've only gotten the sushi and will be back for that.
